We stayed in the Kinza/3 hotels in one in Hammemet Tunisia.

We were told that there were three bars, 3 restaurant, and three pools. What a joke!

The hotel did have three bars, only two were ever open, and one of them you had to pay for even when you were all inclusive, only one restaurant was ever open, which was cramped and messy. The food was cold and very limited choice.

When we arrived at Tunisia in the early hours of the morning the coach was delayed by two hours, then when the coach did arrive (not that we were told anything in the meantime as the Med hotels Rep could hardly speak a word of English), we all got on the coach and stopped at about 10 hotels, on the way however the driver was falling asleep and was all over the road. When we finally got to the hotel (named La Zenith), we didn't know it was our hotel!

The reception looked gorgeous when we first stepped in, we were handed a key, a bottle of water with absolutely no indication as to which way our rooms were.

When we got in the room we found that there was no TV, and it was very noisy outside, this was about 3.30am. We were then awoken by a train going by at 6.30am, we found out later on this was because the door leading to the balcony (one chair), was without any glass. We told our rep (who was lovely looking but the most slimy guy you have ever met) and he said that he would move us the next day. The next day the rep couldn't remember us, but after a fight we moved, to yet another room without a TV, or hairdryer or fridge etc.

The room was clean every day (although there was a cracked sink and it was leaking), and the maid was the friendliest person in the hotel. The rest of the hotel was disgusting (prob. cause all the guest had really dodgy tummies!)

The food was awful, I filled myself up with flat bread, oh and freshly made doughnuts in the morning.

The drinks as everyone said was also awful, my partner could not get served at the bar, although strangely enough one barman used to always serve me straight away (mind you, I am 20).

The entertainment wasn't entertainment, but you have to hand it to the entertainment staff for less than

The hotel reception area seemed to me quite clean and freshly painted. It appeared impossible to miss the man with with the brush constantly letching at the bikini-clan girls whilst painting!

Moving outside things were perhaps not quite as good - the cockroaches made it to the bar rather more quickly than the holiday makers. Perhaps they liked the flat coke and the oddly cloudy beer? Certainly, by the time I got served I was needing something rather stronger that the all inclusive offer of not so fizzy pop and beer. I needed a good stiff whisky!

If you're one enjoy being chatted up by greesy looking, skin crawling creeps, this might be the utopian place for you. Fortunately, I speak French so was able to tell them to get on their camel and drive into the desert without returning, in less than polite terms. Believe it or not they seemed to serve me more quickly after my little outburst...probably afraid of another onslaught.

The food, if you could ascertain what you were eating seemed OK. Nothing particularly exciting or hot. The real eye-opener came afterwards when you found yourself, and everyone else, in the slow moving queue for the loo. Everyone seemed to have a strange stomach bug... We were even warned by the Holiday Rep. this would probably happen. He seemed well versed and blamed the excruciating cramps (and dire consequences) on change of diet and heat. Over the years my partner has lived in Sudan, Cambodia and Ethiopia - he used to be Mr Smug about his ability to ride out any stomach storm without even the slightest belch bubbling to the surface. Not any more.... It knocked us out, and everyone else we came across, for at least three days of our week long horridday. In fact, on returning home we read an article in the paper about a possible salmonella scare at the hotel complex.

Surely, there must be something good - no. The entertainment was terrible.

Would I stay there again... ummm it's a hard one, but I think not. My advice for anyone thinking of booking a holiday here is: "don't do it!", for those of you who have sadly already booked and now discovered this site: "make sure you take the immodium and soft loo paper, you'll probably need it".
