Yasmine Hammamet does not have a great nightlife and when you do step outside your hotel the hassle you get from the sellers is ridiculous, there is absolutely no pleasure in shopping, or just taking a walk.
The beach is clean and if you could just relax and enjoy it it would be lovely but unfortunatley the sellers are always there and you never get a minutes peace.
We would never go here again.

Seedy Resort- everywhere you when you got hassled -especially women even when obviously part of a group. I was intimated and spoken to and treated as a 2nd class citizen because of my gender.

Suffered constant hassle and unwelcome advances and intimidation from men even when out as part of a couple or group. Seems to be par for the course for all foreign women regardless of what wearing age etc.. but blondes are especially targetted by the local men.

Taxis are good, drivers friendly and reasonably priced though.

Resort and country needs plenty of investment.

We enjoyed this holiday so much that I am returning with my daughter in March 2005 and again with my husband in May 2005.

If you want a healthy holiday and the chance to come home looking younger and more rested than when you went away then this is the place to be. The beach is lovely and you can walk up the surf every day in the sun.

Not a lot to do in the evening outside the hotel but this suited us. Souvenier shops just yards from the front door of the hotel. Can't say much about the resort as a whole since we rarely left the hotel. It seemed to have all we needed. Not for the young and definitely not for families with children. They would soon become bored.

Hammamet is trying to move forward and around the Medina is fantastic, everthing looks new but as you walk up the coastal road towards the Hotel you can see the level of litter etc, but this may be due to the fact that there is a Secondary School/College where students gather at breaks.

Tunisians are not rich by any standards so their homes tend only to be half built they do what they can when they are earning money and live with what they have the rest of the year.

During the day we spent time in the Medina and drinking coffee at the Moorish cafe at the front entrance to the Medina (Sea facing) would deffinately reccomend this roughly 50p for two coffees - bargain and needed after the walk from the hotel which is quite a distance especially in the heat - but a Taxi will only set you back 2 Dinars (£1.00).

The beach is part of the hotel and so is maintained to a very high standard, while we were there the sea was rough one evening the next day 4 men turned up on a large pick up truck with rakes to clear away the seaweed!!!

The Beaches were very clean, some very interesting places.
The Medina can be be a bit intimidating, especially for women with Blonde Hair!! Talk about in your face. My 17 year old son thought it was a bit of a laugh as my husband did, but i was scared stiff.

I never felt safe enough to go out on my own of the Hotel complex.Lots of Groups of men Hung about Just Staring at you. Wouldnt visit again, no reflection on the place - just so much more of the World I want to see!

Leave the hotel complex and expect to be hassled, even a walk on the beach invites local hawks trying hard to sell you there wares or take you on a camel ride regardless of hotel security presence.

Two females we shared our dinning table with were becoming growingly frustraded with the constant harassment. That said once inside a restauraunt or bar expect walm welcomes and friends to be made.

Beware stray camels and donkeys roaming the roads we saw many inches from the bonnets of maniac taxi and coach drivers.

Oh dear. If you are 2 women travelling alone it can get a bit tiresome trying to ward off the advances of Tunisian men! The Medina in Hammamet was a nightmare, I think this is where we were propositioned the most. We also had a run in with one of the beach sellers selling necklaces and bracelets, a very seedy character! There is not much to do in the vicinity of the hotel, although I must mention Jeans Cafe and Cascades Restaurant, good food and service in both. We did venture out to Yasmine Hammamet to a bar, but this was in mixed company and we felt a bit more relaxed. Yasmine Hammamet is a new resort and looks lovely. Also thre is a theme park there, which is great for kids and adults alike, well worth a visit for all the family. Our rep Lorraine was great and very informative and helpful. That said, we would visit again, but definitely not in their Summer months as the temperature reaches 55 degrees!

The resort was kept very clean throughout the day the walk ways were cleaned every morning to keep path ways clean the gardens were beautifully kept.

The entertainment team worked very hard and was good to watch it was funny and the kids loved it.

The beach was well kept with a choice of either sitting in the sun or sitting under the huts in the shade, which is great to keep the kids out of the sun. There are plenty of bins around and while we was there no rubbish blowing around like back home.

We are definetly booking again for next year as the staff were so friendly it will be nice to see them all again.(see you all soon).

Hammamet's centre is an old fishing village which has developed into a tourist resort without losing all of its original charm and whilst it is basically clean, like most arabic countries it is a bit dusty and recently a lot of work has been done to improve the roads and footpaths. There are lots of restaurants in the resorts catering for types of people but most of the entertainment is in the hotels. This is normally quite good and people move around the differnt hotels in the evening.

The beach is well maintained although in winter the water is a little too cold for sea bathing unless you are the hardy type but once again the hotels often have heated pools, normally indoors. I am now looking forward to my next trip this coming winter

The Resort was near Hammement and Jasmine, they were both
only a taxi fare away and the cost was approx 4 dino, which
is approx €2.00 Euro. The beach was approx 5 min walk
from the hotel and was absolutely beautiful.
The area around was quite enough, but we went in Feb 08
So I am sure in Peak Season, it will get a lot noiser,
but overall the Resort is very good. I would recommend it
to anyone !
