Nice place to wonder round. Be wary of the restaurant managers trying to grab you in some can be over bearing others a simple no should suffice.

The resort is kept clean. Some nice restaurants around the marina and fountains. The beach is generally clean but there was a storm the week before we got there which washed an unusually high amount of seaweed on to the beach and proved a bit difficult to get rid of. The resort has a relaxed feel and the Tunisian locals are very welcoming.

Didn't venture far from the hotel as just wanted a lazy week on the beach. Did go to Kantoui and that was pretty and no doubt I will return.

Our hotel,The Maharba Palace,had its own section of beach, which was kept clean by the hotel staff,but i did notice that furter down the beach from us there was a lot of seaweed piled up on the shore.Apart from this it seemed quite clean.The port area was very clean and tidy,with no rubbish anywhere what we saw.Only entertainment we saw was in the hotel ,but it was very poor,Theres a pub over the road called the irish bar,but when we went to see what it was like,when i opened the door,it was wall to wall smoke,like the bar in the film Casablanca where you could barely make out the people.So that was a nono.Iwould still visit this resort again in spite of this,as it is so relaxing

PEK was not as quiet as we expected, certainly during the day there were lots of tourists, including Libyan & Tunisian families, but at night it was pretty dead after about 9pm, most people stayed in their hotels. There was the usual hassle from the port guys trying to sell their wares and trips but most were fine when you say no thanks. There was just one odious character, near the Neptune boat restaurant who was extremely rude and persistent - avoid his like the plague - he is just spoiling it for all the other guys.

There is not much to do in Port El Kantaoui. There is a fab shopping centre opposite the hotel. It is all reasonable prices too. We got a taxi down to the harbour. You can walk it, it takes about 25 minutes. The harbour is beautiful and you can walk back to the hotel along the beach. There is loads of restaurants all at reasonable prices and there is a good fun fair for all the family here too. We also got a taxi to Sousse which was lovely. The medina and market was massive!!!! The hotel beach is spotless. The sand is pure and the beach is very clean. This is a great hotel and I would definately go back.

Visited out off season so beaches and entertainment had not been attended to. Great resort to stay at if you want a hotel based stay, if you want to travel around Sousse is a much better option with it's bus and train links.

Not much in locality but in fairness, there was so much going on in the hotel, there was little need to venture outside.
