Entrance and reception fairly impressive, but rooms, restaurants and snack bars in need of a good clean.

Stained tablecloths, chair upholstery etc does not put you in a comfortable mood for eating especially when the food is limited on choice and poor presentation. Constantly running out of plates and cups, glasses for juice etc, which was dilute pop if you ask me.

Rooms cleaned daily, yes but cleaning already run down rooms doesn't make it comfortable, there was a rusty patch in the bottom of our bath for example that made the water brown for every bath full of water this was cleverly hidden with a shower mat.

Good location in relation to the beach etc, but when beach is not very large, it gets awfully overcrowded.

Entertainment good,it varied each day but this didn't in any way make up for the downsides of the hotels in general.

This is our third visit and yet again have had an excellent holiday, the rooms are in good decorative order and beds and towels(2 bath 2 hand bath mat) changed each day.

If the housekeeper sees that towels have been used during the day, when she checks the rooms in the late afternoon, they are changed again.

Staff from the Management and directors down cannot do enough to make your stay so welcome. The Hotel is situated just off the main road, and has its sister hotel the Sofiane in between it and the beach and is sourrounded by very well kept gardens, the beach is a 3 minute walk.

Entertainment is improving all the time and we had some very good quality shows put on thanks to a new show director called Omar.

Food is exellent, very varied and lots of choice, no one in the whole 14 days we stayed reported upset stomachs, now that is good cooking... also you can dine once in the Italian restaurant and once in the Tunisian Style, both excellent quality and choice.

The Director/General of the hotel(s) is called Nadia M'layah and she is superb and always stops and asks guests if they are happy or have complaints. Definately recommend this Hotel.

Stayed at the hotel Allegro Riviera.

The hotel was excellent with beautiful public areas of marble floors and ornate ceilings. It was very clean. The rooms were very nice and cleaned daily, the maids leaving sweets and little notes on the pillows.Towels and bedding changed daily.

The hotel food was excellent with plenty of choice each day.We didn't try the a'la carte restaurants due to having a very fussy grandaughter with us,but everyone we spoke to said they were very good.

The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you, very friendly and love children. The animation team were great fun and worked hard all day.The evening entertainment wasn't bad but repeated the second week.
The hotel was situated a couple of kilometres outside port el kantoui but a 20 minute walk or 3-4 minute taxi ride would find you at the marina.

All in all an excellent hotel which we hope to return to next year.

We went all inclusive at the hotel. The first day of food really buffet style wasn’t great but it did improve as the days went by but not that much. We also went to the Italian restaurant which was a 4 course meal that wasn’t too bad. The drinks were very watered down but it was fun to be able to from lots of cocktail (which had different names but were really all the same) and slowly get tipsy. The beer was a bit weak.

The cleanliness of the hotel was surprising. I was very impressed with the way they constantly cleaned. Every day the made the bed and arranged the blanket in a different style which was nice. We left some money for them to say thank you.

The hotel staff were really nice and like to joke around. Sometimes it was difficult to understand what they were saying but we just laughed about it.

We didn’t really experience the entertainment of the hotel but we did watch the fun that they were having at the pool from our balcony. They were very enthusiastic and people participated in the fun.

I would go to this hotel again. I liked it and was very impressed with the staff and hotel.

The hotel was superb.

There was a good selection of food which was tasty and hot and well cooked. The hotel had an offer of a free al a carte meal but this was unnecessary as the normal restaurant food was really good. Drinks, both beer and spirits were weak and "individual" if taken without mixers. Take some duty free for a real "belt".

The staff were always helpful and polite with a ready smile.

No tea making facilities in the room meant a long walk to the drink bar or a wait until breakfast before a start of the day kick start.

The pool was a lovely area and the sea with a daily cleaned beach was about 300 yards away.

Entertainment (in sister hotel Abou Soffaine) was more suited to younger families.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Friendly, helpfull staff - and plenty of them (and communication didn't prove a problem either). Very clean throughout.

We have 3 teenage daughters, who can be fussy, and we all made full use of the "all inclusive" aspect at meal times, having "seconds" and "thirds". There was enough choice (including pork based!) that if somethings looked a bit "odd" for your tastes, there were plenty of alternatives. This was at the main help yourself buffet style restaurant. We had the option of using the seperate restaurant for a 4 course a la carte but never bothered.

We only went to the evening entertainment, at the "sister" hotel Abou Sofiane once. This isn't usually our scene so its hard to comment, but it did seem a bit naff and conspicuous by being all male performers!

However, we did make use of the daily poolside activities put on - such as belly dancing and water polo, and beach activities available such as wind surfing, canoeing, pedaloes and parascending.

The indoor and outdoor pools were very good.

We arrived at the hotel approximately 11:00pm. Despite the time, we were met by the hotel staff with a cocktail whilst they allocated the rooms. The suitcases were taken to the rooms without any delay. First impressions of the hotel foyer took ones breath away. A fabulously impressive crystal chandelier hung above a water fountain in the reception area. Next to the reception area was a lounge area which too had a just as impressive ceiling. The walls and floors were all marble and everything was immaculately clean.

The rooms were spacious and extremely clean.

Even though it was late, the snack bar was open and we were able to get a hot meal.

The maid service was daily, and each day the bed was made in a different way - it was pure art really. Very difficult to recreate with a duvet at home. Flower petals and sweets were left on the pillows each day. The service was absolutely faultless.

The food was plentiful and extremely varied. Attention to detail was brilliant. There was even a microwave in the restaurant if you thought that the food wasn’t hot enough - although we never felt the need to use it. In the mornings, fresh pancakes with an assortment of fillings of your choice, fresh omelettes with again an assortment of fillings of your choice. In addition to these, there was still cereal, cooked breakfast (although never any bacon due to Muslim religion), but there was everything else!

Lunch was equally as good and evening meal again excellent. Drinks were always available, and although not on par strength wise with our alcohol, if you smiled sweetly at the barman (who we later named Zubin) he was more than happy to give you triple measures and this seemed to achieve the desired effect. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. In fact one of the ladies whom we met was celebrating her birthday and the staff presented her with a cake, specially prepared cocktails in decorated glasses and a bouquet of flowers.

Since we returned I celebrated a birthday and received a letter from the hotel wishing me a happy birthday. An altogether fantastic place.

The only downside was the entertainment. It was a little confusing to say the least. On the other hand it has to be realised that the staff have to entertain numerous nationalities and we don’t all have the same sense of humour. Anyway we made our own entertainment.

The hotel is fantastic, staff fantastic and we have booked already for next year. But hey why take our word for it - visit yourselves and you will not be disappointed.

We arrived around midnight to be greeted by baggage handlers and a welcome drink excellent service from day one to the day we left.

Food great choice and poolside food excellent better than the beach side one. Entertainment very poor,a quiet drink and off to bed.

But with lots to do on the beach you need some early nights.Travelled by taxi to Sousse a little scary felt very harrassed in the shopping areas but have learned a good lesson,be firm and say no thank you.

Spend all your currency before you leave for home as it can't be spent insde the airport, only a few shops in the airport entrance to spend odd currency.

We have stayed at this hotel a total of ten times over the past 5-6 years.

This hotel has a lovely atmosphere, admittedly it is aimed at a slight older visitor, and is not really suitable for those who expect a lively night life. However, there is a disco based at it's sister hotle the Abou Sofiane.

The hotel is spotless from top to bottom, including the garden and pool areas. The staff are just wonderful, always very helpful and after our many visits there we also get a fantastic reception for the staff.

The dining areas are always very clean. The choice of food is vast, even the most fussiest of eater will find something.

All the rooms are very spacious, and there is a maid service every day.

The main area of the hotel eg. reception, coffee lounge, bars are well looked after.

All in all the hotel is one of the impressive we have stayed in (we had been in 3-4 other hotels over the years). The only downside we have found is the animation team, who are unfortunately lacking in imagination, the same round of shows have been going for many years and repeat visitors have seen them before. Having said that the animation team do work hard during the day with other activites and still have a show to perform every evening.

There are also facilitied for the children (based at the sister hotel Abou Sofiane).

It is a short walk onto the main town, which even at night we felt very safe. The people of Tunisia are very friendly.

go on a diet before you come to this hotel, food is superb, and we were all incl., free tea and coffee ALL DAY TOGETHER WITH SNACKS FROM THE POOL BAR, all excellent., fresh pizzas, lovely., cooked to order.
The staff are first rate from managers right down to the maids, all so polite and attentive., the hotel is excellently laid out, with lovely gardens, super pool area, and plenty of activity in the form of more gentile games, if you want to go completely mad go to the Abu Sofiane the sister hotel, for more lively action. the reception area is traditional Tunisian and the coloured glass around the ceiling is something to be see, when the sun is shining through, if you get the chance ,give this hotel a visit. Our rep Martin Smith from Thomas Cook., knew anything there was to know about Tunisia and was a credit to Thomas Cook, extremely, helpful and courteous.
