Do not go here under any circumstances.

The food was the poorest I have ever seen on an AI holiday. There was very little choice, food looked and tasted bland. There was very little for the kids, my kids love food and they lived on crusty bread and chips for a week.

The alcohol was a disaster, AI means all local drinks and soft drinks, all you were offered alcohol wise was wine (albeit red, white and roise), Buka and Thimarine, if you wanted vokda or brandy etc you had to pay for it.

Who ever rated this hotel as a 3 star perhaps should compare with other 3 star hotels in the area, it is more like a hostel.

The entertainment was a washout, 4 young guys did their best and the sole singer thought he was good, but was awful. The dance floor and the entertainment stage was smaller than I have seen in a bar.

The hotel is run down, I beleive it had an overall during the winter, but all they seemed to do was paint it, there was loose tiles on the floor, which was dirty, there was holes in walls, and generally needed gutted and redone.

The only positive thing was the pool, it was nice set in nice surroundings, but even then the uneveness of the surrounding ground meant you would not dare try and walk with high heels on which you had to cross to access the accommodation blocks.

The dining room was not kept clean at all,I only witnessed the table cloths being changed once in the whole week I was there, there was obvious dirty marks on the table that were present at breakfast time and still there in the evening and then again at breakfast time again the next day.

The waiters were good, and certainly they did their job, the bar staff were moody if you asked for two drinks at a time, and by no means were we being greedy and the alcohol they did serve did not even make you merry.

I certainly won't be going back to this hotel, and would not recommend it to anyone in its currents state of repair. A major overhaul is required, and I think management should visit other AI hotels and see what 3 star standards are in place, but as far as this hotel goes their standards are a joke.

The inside pool was dirty, walls and ceilings were all holes, just utter shabbieness all round.

Please, please do not even consider going here even if you get a cheap holiday.

The towels were blue, and some were torn and rattling away, we had 4 people in our room and had to ask various times to get 4 towels, when they were eventually changed, the dust under the beds look like they had not seen a brush or a mop for months.

The glasses from the bar were always chipped, you had to be very careful, even the kids were getting chipped glasses.

The have plastic cups sometimes, but generally give you glass even for outside around the pool which again reveals poor safety standards. The plastic cups were that cheap and flimsy that when you picked them up without any force the collapsed and you lost half of the contents before you even left the bar.

The reception staff were very helpful, and have no complaints there.

God knows what they are thinking about. When we were there there was at least 5 parties transferred out on arrival due to the low standards, we however were not in a financial position to do so at the time, so had to endure the consequences. We made the most of our holiday, met some lovely people, and had a relaxing break, but definitely was not what we expected having been and stayed in Tunisia before, and have seen what standards can be achieved in other 3 star hotels.

Put me off Tunisia for life!

Spoilt my kids holiday and mine, putting in a complaint, and Med hotels needs to have a good look at this.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Hotel Saadia and will again do so next year.

We have had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel is not in a built up area which is good as it then gives you a choice to go to the busy areas or just laze around the pool and have fun. You could not travel the world to find better polite and very caring staff.

The entertainment team work very hard to make sure that you enjoy your stay whilst there and are kind and considerate with all ages./disabilities.

We have travelled quite a lot around the world and again we come back because we just love them all.

We have visited this hotel 5 times in the past 6 years this year with some reservations due to the fact that we had heard that a large percentage of the hotel was now 'all inclusive'. Our past experience with all inclusive is that it works best when the whole hotel is on the same basis. Knowing that Tunisian staff work for small wages and that 'tipping' is essential to them, we had concerns that there would be a two tier system of service.

We were half board and paid for any additional meals and all of our drinks and can honestly say that the service and standards were first rate however those clients (mostly not english) on all inclusive did have to fetch there own drinks queing for sometime at the bar at busy periods. We were waited on at table for drinks also in the restaurant and even at our sunbeds, which was great, whilst those clients on all inclusive were not. Also of course, we were able to buy bottles of wine. The clients on all inclusive were only offered a selection of drinks and only by the glass and anything else had to be paid for. The result of this was that many clients thought that we were getting preferential service.

In the main the hotel retained a very high standard and we will certainly visit again, however due to the large number of other nationalities visited the menu in the restaurant at night was bland and I would have preferred to see more Tunisian food offered, which in the past it had been.

The food in the Pizzeria, which everyone had to pay for, was exceptional and BBQ'd king prawns at

We arrived at the hotel very optimistic with what we found.

The pool area was clean and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

When we were shown to our room we nearly passed out, me with laughing and my friend with horror. The bare floor tiles were cracked and had mould growing in them, the floor to ceiling curtains were disgusting and the beds had no springs.

The next morning we ventured out to breakfast this was to be the first and last time, the food was disgusting.

We then went to relax by the pool to start on our sun tan, which was not to be. As it was only just gone 09.00am we thought that we would have no problem getting a sun bed but they were all gone. We spent the rest of the day in the shade getting more and more peed off.

The next day I was up with the lark and down to the pool at 07.30 but alas there were still no sunbeds. As we never went to sleep until 02.00am and there were no sun beds out we were convinced something was going on. We eventually found out that for 2 Dinars a day the pool boy was reserving the sun beds, my first reaction was to go and scream at the receptionist but after I calmed down I realised it was worth paying as you got the same spot throughout your holiday.

We stayed at the Saadia half board (THANK GOD) the first night we were there I went up to the bar and joined the queue of about 15, I was standing there with a 20 Dinar note in my hand when the bar man signalled for me to come to the front, I told him that I was last but he just kept saying "here" he asked me what I wanted and he got two large glasses and two plastic ones, he placed the plastic ones under the glass ones and poured the beer from the tap, all the overspill of froth went into the plastic cups. I paid and he gave me the beers, he then picked up the two plastic cups and gave the two cups of froth to the German man standing next to me. I have never been so embarrassed in all my life.

As the holiday went on we found that this was how all the All Inclusive people were treated. If you went to reception and there were All Inclusive people being seen to they would stop and start dealing with you.

The food was edible but not really enjoyable.

I don't know where these people had been that said the staff were friendly. We were pestered for sex the whole time we were there, the waiters in the restaurants were asking for sex, there was a camel man that would plonk himself down in between your legs while you were sun bathing to try and sell you trips, your personal space was totally invaded. The men would grab you as you walked past and just kiss you, this was not only waiters but even the man in the shop ugh!!!!

This hotel is great for the older generation or those with young children as the food is edible and their are hardly any stairs. For young people give it a miss the disco smells of vomit and the staff are looking for passports.

Also beware of the maids we took 2ltre of whiskey and had to hide it the safe along with our make-up and money, as the maids were stealing our stuff. After a report that maids were stealing we booby trapped our bags and when we came back all our stuff had been moved. We had no proof so could not report it but just left the "Do not Disturb" sign on the door. They came in when it was on but after a rollicking they never bothered again.

The hotel was basic, if your looking for luxury then go elsewhere, no fridges or tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, but we were told you could hire these for your stay.

We stayed half board and the food, although not exciting, was good. You can buy water and essentials at the shop in the hotel.

The location is remote in that it is in an area where the Tunisians are trying to build a tourist area just outside the town of Monastir. It is therefore rather remote but taxi fares are cheap (

When in the hotel we drank beer and wine as we had paid all inclusive and thought we might as well get something out of our money.

Nearly every drink we had was served in either a chipped or cracked glass or most of the time they were dirty. The water behind the bar used to was them in was filthy. When we ordered a beer we could only have a small one, in every other all inclusive hotel we have been to once you have paid you can have what you want and this could be a large beer. It was absolutely ridiculous and felt that we were being treated like children. The soft drinks which are in the all inclusive were served in white disposable plastic cups and if you asked for it in a glass you were just laughed at, it felt like we were still at school. People who bought cola and lemonade etc from the bar were given glass bottles with a straw.

The people who were all inclusive were given it in cups from a plastic bottle which tasted very sweet rather like soda stream I suspect as a cost cutting method. This should not be the case we should get the same treatment as everyone else. On a few occasions the outside bar was not manned and the barman would be hiding behind a screen eating his dinner and would make it obvious he had seen you but still not serve you, this is just arrogant. A lot of the staff were very rude with the odd few been friendly.

If you were sat at a table you got waiter service but if you had a blue band indicating you are an inclusive guest then they would ignore you as they did not think they would get a tip from you. One bar man in the inside bar was very suggestive and made rude comments he even followed one female guest into the toilets to harass her and when she threatened to get the manager he left. You do not expect this behavior on holiday and it was most unwelcome.

We would like to know why you had to sign a chit/receipt every time you got a drink when you have a band on to indicate you are an all inclusive guest. The glasses and tables and general bar area we thought were not kept very clean. We observed a table with a spillage on it which attracted about 30 bees the waiters walked past it for over an hour. Anyone could have been stung. The bar was a disgrace and for most of the holiday we purchased drinks outside the hotel.

As previously mentioned we both suffered diahorrea and sickness for the 10 days we were on holiday and we were not the only ones. On day two of our holiday we complained about the hotel and hygiene standards to the 1-2 Fly Representative, but he just said that it would improve which it did not.

Firstly meal time at lunch was supposed to be at 1230-1400hrs. On numerous occasions the doors were not opened until 1255hrs. People were stood queuing which is not good when you are supposed to be on a relaxing holiday. The food itself was mostly the same choice every day for the whole ten days. Breakfast was croissants, which were hard, bread which was like rock and you could hardly cut through it. Boiled eggs, fried eggs, sausages on some occasions and beans which were drowning in some sort of congealed liquid.

If you were brave enough to sample lunch or dinner the meals were nearly always the same. The food was disgusting and most of the time there were trays running out and the chefs were not very quick at replacing the food which had been taken on the buffet. The chips and potatoes were rarely cooked properly. On one occasion we both got meatballs and when we cut them open they were raw. We told the waiter who just told us that the chefs were busy.

The chefs uniforms were filthy and we witnessed the chef in the pizzeria which is a separate restaurant wearing the same uniform for the whole ten days we were there. This is unacceptable hygiene. The floor in the kitchen of the pizzeria was always filthy even when the kitchen had just opened and there was no wonder that so many people at the hotel were ill. The pizza which was cooked for the guests was cooked fresh if you were all inclusive you got slices from a big tray which can only be described as cold bread with tomatoe puree on. The all inclusive pizza did not resemble pizza in any way. Also pasta was supposed to be served in the evening as part of all inclusive but never was.

On several occasions in the main buffet restaurant we just ate pasta as the rest of the food did not look edible. Most of the time we just took one look and ended up eating elsewhere. We witnessed a chef again in a dirty uniform come out take some paper napkins wipe the hotplate down. He then brought out a tray of meat took the old meat off and used the same napkins he had used to wipe down to push the old meat onto the new meat. This is disgusting practice.

The waiters in the restaurant would ask if you wanted a drink with your meal and then bring it when you had finished your meal and it was often warm beer with dirty glasses.

There were flies everywhere and the window sills were full of dead ones. All they need to do is invest in some fly zappers. Instead of plates being taken away straight immediately to be washed, they and the unwanted food was piled high on side tables which attracted even more flies.

Our dining experience at the Saadia hotel can only be described as feeding time at the zoo.

The entertainment at the beginning of every night was a kids mad half hour. The entertainment team would get the kids up and play the same naff songs every night, this was rather irritating to most guest especially those without children. Why not have the kids entertainment separate or if they must do it vary it.

The entertainment itself was some of the worst we have ever seen relying most of the time on audience participation, rather been like at Butlins. The CDs played during the day were the same day in day out. The so called DJ was annoying as he kept spinning the records and slowing and speeding up the music which irritated a lot of people. The Nightclub we thought would be great to escape and unwind, wrong again. On the door as you would expect it clearly stated

We stayed in the hotel Saadia for 2 weeks with our 2 children age 5 and 2.

When we arrived we were welcomed, signed in and taken to our room, we got a ground floor room as asked for due to the kids and was very pleased to see it was clean but basic.

The room was cleaned every day, the cleaners were non stop all morning and we could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel, which we were pleased with considering only a 3star hotel. The staff were fantastic very good with children and friendly.

Breakfast was served from 6-10am, with a varied choice but I mainly lived on croissants and coffee. We were half board, but if you wanted food from the pizzeria you could buy it and was reasonable price and nice.

The tea was served from 7-9.30pm, the food catered for everyone and slightly varied each night but there was a lot better than breakfast, I would say kids food choice could be better,ie: chicken nuggets etc.

The plus factor of being half board is that the waiters served us, they do like a tip but you don't have to, we just tipped our change which is pence to us but means alot to them, due to their wages working out at only

If you got the Saadia Hotel then you're very lucky!

Many of the people there are repeat visitors from all over Europe. It's a no frills hotel, not ultra modern but well kept by a very hard working and friendly team.

The food is varied and as long as you understand that they have to cater for different nationalities then you won't be dissapointed. You wont go hungry let's put it that way.

The pool is gorgeous as are the surroundings and the daytime entertainment is fun to watch or take part in.
The nightime entertainment is far from 18-30s but hilarious none the less. It's what you make it. Watch out for the multi lingual bingo.

Tariqs camel trip is one not to miss. The hotel is pretty bug free and we heard few complaints about mozzie bites.

We can't wait to go back next year and wont be going anywhere else but the Saadia Hotel!!!

We have stayed here a few times now and met some wonderful people.

The pool is excellent and exceptionally clean. The staff are very polite and accomodating. The animation team work very well and entertain all ages.

The hotel is situated no far from the beach if you don't wish to stay around the pool. The bus services are excellent to adjoining towns and villages.

The hotel is very clean, and the food is very varied. It would be nice to be able to book all inclusive before you travel to accomodate spending money, but sometimes that can be arranged whilst there depending on availablity.

Good for all ages. Peace if you want or joining in with all the fun and games.

We stayed at the hotel for the second time and now going back for the third time in September 2005.

The remarks to liken it to Butlins I feel is an insult to the hardworking staff and entertainment team. They all work long hours and are not as lucky as us to receive the same wages.

The remarks about the chef with dirty clothing, we have never seen, and don't forget how we take running hot water and automatic washing machines for granted in the UK.

They are lovely friendly people the DJ is great as is the rest of the entertainment team!!! It is nice how all nationalities mix together and have fun.

The Hotel will bear me out in saying that most of their clients are returns many coming back year after year after year.
