Hello, I usually use http://www.carjet.com/ and find they are competative, John Beachcomber.

Murcia Airport houses several car hire firms. However, you might be advised to book through a broker like http://www.carjet.com or http://www.economycarhire.com.

After entering the respective website it is a matter of choosing exactly what you want for whatever price you want

we use auto europe which has a desk inside baggage collection in murcia airport.

Having done my research I decided to use Centauro last month. They were excellent - price was competitive, recently new car and were based at the airport. Having booked online the pleasant counter staff had any further paperwork completed in 10 minutes.

My only gripe which applies to many car hire companies is the recent policy of billing you for a full tank when you pick up the car. I was not made aware of any policy to fill the car up on returning and getting the money reimbursed.

i always book with car-jet.co.uk now but next time i am going to try http://www.rentagain.com as they look decent enough and provide free child seat and booster seats which i will need as i have some family over, they are about the same price as well and are based in La Zenia but can pick car up from airports and drop it off again

have a look here:

http://www.rentagain.com/

carjet are good but they get you with the price of fuel and almost forcing you to take extra insurance

hope this helps you :)

Hello, looking at hiring a car from Murcia airport for a week for 4 adults and 1 child (plus luggage!), can anyone recommend a reputable and cost-effective company, please? I've found cars ranging from £200 to £400!

Also, child seats are "not guaranteed". What is the likelihood of not getting a child seat, and if they don't have one, what do you do then?! :yikes
Thanks.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has used the "Basics" Service offered by Carjet. I have used them before and found them to be very good with competitive prices and everything (small print re. insurance etc.) very well explained. Thanks, ccmc. :)

Need to hire a car for 9 days from Murcia airport, holiday autos have just let us down saying they cannot provide a car and we fly tomorrow !!!

Tried the ones in this thread already, waiting on rentagain to get back to us - does anybody know of any others, tried all the big names auto-europe, centauro, goldcar etc - Alternatively are there many car hire places in La Zenia/Playa Flamenca, could always get a taxi and pick one up in resort.

Hi Martynh99,

I am just back from Murcia, and had terrible trouble trying to book a car before we left. We eventually hired a car from a company called Dickmanns in the Los Alcazarez area. Here are my suggestions:

Carjet.com
Goldcar.com
Dickmanns.com

You may be lucky.

thanks, already tried the first two,
the third one is http://www.dickmanns.es or http://www.dickmannsrentacar.com , seems their site is not working fully at minute, can't get a quote/reservation.

We fly in a few hours so will try at the airport.

We recently reported a shortage of hired cars in parts of Spain and the Algarve, due to rental suppliers being unable to increase fleet stock levels as a result of the current economic climate.

This has since been borne out by members finding it difficult or impossible to rent cars at their holiday destinations.

However, we now know of at least two members who had successfully reserved cars with Auriga Crown in Majorca and Valencia, but have now received emails informing them at very short notice that their bookings have been cancelled due to the non-availability of vehicles. No alternative options were made available to them and it seems the only option may be public transport.

We are not suggesting that any or all bookings with Auriga Crown are at risk but anyone holding reservations with that company, either directly or through a car hire broker, may like to keep an eye on their email inboxes or spam folders for any unexpected or unwanted news.

We managed to get one in resort with http://www.rentagain.com though you would think they didn't want your business.

We went to the office and on the door was a sign saying no cars available. We ventured in and enquired only to be told no cars available until end of August.

Not to be defeated we went to their website, made an online booking and picked a car up 48 hours later(earliest you can with online bookings)

has anyone booked car hire from murcia direct with centauro (not through a broker)? just wondering if there is any insurance excess, i have emailed them but dont think they quite understand my question. thanks

Hi Bearman ... the Centauro General Conditions of Hire appear to suggest that there is no excess, except in Ibiza and only on certain groups of car there.
