In my mind I see white sandy beaches, and calm turquiose sea.

Of all the beaches I saw, especially those around hotels, all were idylic. The ones on the west coast are calmer than those on the east, but I wouldn't complain which ever one I was plonked on!

I stayed next door. The beaches around the Belle Mare Plage are fabulous.

Hi there.. We have just returned from a fabulous holiday.. We stayed at the Constance Belle Mare Plage resort which was amazing.! It's on the East Coast and is a bit isolated if you like to go out of an evening but apart from that one small thing we had no complaints.. We stayed in one of their Villas as there were 5 of us and were treated like Royalty throughout our whole stay :) It really was fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough for us.. We had our own Villa Master who looked after us throughout our stay and was the perfect host - tea and coffe every morning and afternoon tea and cakes every day at 3pm !! The beach was a short 2 minute walk away from our Villa and we were usually the only ones there as most people were up the other end of the beach near to the guest rooms.. The beach is lovely although there is a lot of coral and sometimes seaweed washed up but it was truly Paradise and we also found some beautiful shells along the shoreline. I would definiately recommend staying here and in June the weather was perfect for us - around 25 with a bit of wind to keep it cool.. We only had rain a couple of times , even though it's classed as their winter, but it soons clears up too.. Hope this helps ! Nicola

We are looking to go to mauritius in september 2011 too, I am considering booking now, Virgin Holidays are offering good deals.
I have decided on Sands resort on the east side, due to it size and location, the beach is supposed to be amazing.
God I can't beleive we've got to wait over a year :cry

That's why you spend 12+ hours flying rather than just 2.5!
