My son is going to Thailand next year for a month, probably May although dates are to be confirmed. He is travelling solo, and has no fixed agenda on what he going to see first that kind of thing yet. He is likely to stay in hostel type of accommodation to keep the costs down. One of the places he wants to go is Ko phi phi island which he has been advised is a must. He will probably have around £2k (possibly a bit more) which will be his accommodation/food/drink etc

Does anyone have any definite no's or any must do's - it would be most helpful. Would it be best to book the first night accommodation prior to leaving UK, so that at least he can get his bearings after a long trip?

Son is 24 by the way.

Thanks very much
