We stayed at the Hotel Excellence for the third time just before Christmas, this time with friends having previously travelled as a couple.
We can not praise this hotel enough each time we have been we have been looked after to such a high standard we find it hard to try somewhere else. Due to the fact we would probably be disappointed! We have travelled the world fairly extensively but have never found better service anywhere.
The food choice is extensive with a variety of restaurants to choose from none of which disappoint. The rooms on the club side have been modernised and now have lovely new bathrooms with great showers, the rooms are also a lot brighter with a nice new paint job. We used the spa which has also and a face lift and our treatments were wonderful.

Quite possibly the best service I have ever received.
There are thousands of reviews on TA about this place but mostly by Americans so this is aimed at British guests.
The hotel is beautiful and currently undergoing an upgrade.
Food very good in lots of choices of restaurants. Very extensive breakfast buffet or a la carte if you choose. Champagne for breakfast all the top brand drinks and you can barely finish one before your glass is refilled.
Rooms good size bed a bit hard for my liking but got used to it. The thing that sets the Excellence apart for me is the service. Not once did I encounter anything but first class service. They will do anything to make your stay a happy one.
You will be lying around the pool or the beach and someone will come to take you drink order. Once they see your glass empty you will be asked if you need more.
Lunchtime a chap will bring pizza around along with all the other dining options.
One thing I can tell you is tipping or not will make no difference to the level of service you receive. It will always be spot on. I was a bit stressed about it before we went but it is not an issue.
We tipped a dollar here and there to anyone we felt gave extra special service. If a man is walking along a hot beach to bring us drinks all day a couple of dollars is not going to hurt. We always left a tip at the bar if we had pre dinner drinks. Same goes to the waiter in the restaurant. I understand all tips are shared.
As I said though whatever you decide you will receive the same high level of service. Just go you will love it.

The hotel certainly lives up to its name it is excellent. The staff are extremely polite at all times.
The Food is fabulous a different restaurant each night very little queing, no need to reserve a table the only meal that is buffet style is breakfast and the choices are vast. The hotel is about one hour drive from the airport and is quite isolated. However so much going on at the hotel really no need to go out for any entertainment. There is a show on every night and a casino within the hotel . We booked our holiday with thomson we went to this area for the whale watching. we booked a trip with thomson paid for what they call the Bacardi island trip. Did not get the trip we paid for we did see the whales which was great. However the remainder of the trip was not .we were told we would have a flight to the boat. 2 hours whale watching and 2/3 hours on the bacardi island with barbeque and sunbathing and swimming and then return home. we did not get this so be very carefull if you book this with the thomson rep as they state after that it says on the tickets that they can change the itinery . This was not a cheap excersion it cost around
