As you may have gathered, the forums are running a little slow at the moment.

The reason for this is that the software is now in the process of compiling the search index. This involves it having to go through each of the near to 500,000 topics and search for unique words in them and then add them to the database.

Whilst the software is doing this, it also has to take care of users conducting normal forum business, hence it running a little slower than usual.

I've been reliably informed that the indexing of the search should be completed in approx. 1 hr.

I know that it is a pain in the backside but I suggested to Van that he manually copies and pastes the 450,000+ topics into the database.

He wouldn't have none of that and decided to let the software do it

The indexing is taking longer than expected.

Until this indexing has been done, speeds will be lower than usual.
