Brite Smile is a well know whitening procedure from the States and has been rated as the best in the business today. Its Photon whitening , one generation higher than laser whitening. The system was co-invented by Dr. John Warner, a former NASA scientist and a member of the Hubble Space Telescope development program. It uses light photons to aid in the whitening process.

We use 15% hydrogen peroxide gel, which has a neutral PH so less sensitive towards the teeth. The hydrogen peroxide is broken down by the photon light into water and Oxygen is released. Its oxygen that enter your teeth and whitens from whitin so its safe on the enamel and does not damage the teeth in anyway. Please note that Crowns, Veneers, laminates, fillings of any sort will not whiten with any whitening procedure. The same holds true for britesmile. Patients having sensitive teeth or worn out teeth are advised against whitening as the dentin ( the brown part of the tooth) has fine nerve endings that give you pain.

Just to clarify that the price of Brite Smile has been misquoted in a few posts ..its £195. India gets a subsidised price so all affiliates here have the same price. The standard price is £550 worldwide. The price of Zoom 2 is correct and stands at £165.

Pola whitening:

Pola whitening uses 35% hydrogen peroxide and being a higher concentration 3 of 5 patients will experience a degree of sensitivity. Please note sensitivity lasts for a maximum of a few hours and will go away by taking any pain killer in 20 min. The price in Calangute is £60 pounds at all surgeries for this procedure and everyone does it.

Instructions after Brite Smile , Zoom 2 and Pola whitening:

1. No coloured foods and alcohol for 24 hours.
2. Do not eat or drink anything that can stain a white shirt. Your teeth remain "open" to whatever you give it. It takes 12-24 hours for the acquired pellicle to form and seal the enamel so to be on the safer side we say 24 hours.

So what can you eat .....

Chicken or Turkey Breast in White sauce
Pastas, Noodles and white rice
Chicken & cheese sandwiches (white bread only )
youghurt, milk etc

Have soom good news as well.. You can drink Gin & Tonic, Vodka or Bacardi clear with sprite or 7up. Please note lemonade in india is not clear so its not advised as a mixer.

Zoom 2 whitening is also available in Goa and they can go upto 6 shades whiter. Brite Smile goes from 8-14 shades with a money back gurantee from the parent company if it fails. Goa has nad a 100% record for the last 2 years with Britesmile. No stats available on Zoom2 as they are 3 months old in Goa, but its one of the best and competes with Brite Smile for the top honours.

For all you guys using whitening trays and at home kits. Do not wear them overnight , no matter what the instructions say. Your teeth will get very sensitive after prolonged exposure to hydrogen peroxide. 2- 3 hours per session is maximum recommended by me.
