I find any information as a guide to hotels and resorts very useful, but of coarse they are going to show you spotlessly clean rooms and other areas.
You wouldn't go if they showed grotty.

Which is exactly the point I was trying to make.

Whilst I'm not saying that Thompson is guilty of this, it could very well give a wrong impression to potential punters showing freshly cleaned/redecorated rooms whilst the majority of the rooms of the hotel are a tip.

I rather rely on the likes of Sanji providing "real" footage and reading "real" reviews here on HT to make a decision on whether the hotel is for me or not.

I agree that they obviously only show the best rooms in the clips and the best behaved kids and families etc! They also I think do this in the brosures too! If you have a look through the brosure for Thomson you'll often see the same picture but in two different countries!!!
I think what we need is like a You Tube type thing on here where our own vids can be! Sanjis vids are great and I've been beificial of them myself but unfortunatetly she can't go to every hotel (although I'm sure she's fairly close ) so if we all added a few each year it'd soon grow and grow. The only problem may be bandwidth andenough storage space for them all cos I know vids are quite large files!

Well I'm sorry to say that it just goes from bad to worse.
Out of curiosity, I clicked on the resort video of Benidorm and I'm sat here thinking to myself, "that's not in Benidorm, that's Altea" which is further up the coast, then I noticed that they have placed a video of the Costa Blanca under the resort of Benidorm. which only includes a few shots of Benidorm.

Unbelievable really, when you think about it and these people are flogging holidays to these resorts and are supposed to be giving the paying public correct information.
If I were Thomson, I'd get my act together, pronto
I daren't look at any more videos, otherwise I may sound like I'm on a hate campaign against them, if I find any more faults.

I much prefer the videos submitted here by Sanji, as the Hotels do not know why she is filming in them. To them she is just a *guest* taking a few souvenir holiday photos.

I am aware that scenes in professional videos can be *staged*, but to shoot scenes that are of areas not even in the Resort is simply not on.

I'd be most annoyed if I booked a hotel based on something I had seen in one of Thomsons holiday videos, only to find it was not there when I arrived.

But I do agree, a HT User Video Report area would be an excellent addition to what is already an excellent website.
