Thanks for the links, I'll look them up and report back on what I find in case anyone else would like to know.

I've now been on the ferries-turkey site, thanks for the tip rwb-46. I found mention of a hydrofoil from Marmaris to Bodrum but when I looked on the route map it showed it leaving from the north of the peninsula while Marmaris is on the south. Has anyone used this hydrofoil and can give me any info about getting there from icmeler. Many thanks.

I think we'll be getting the friends to come across on a day trip from Kos though or we'll be spending the whole day travelling!
