We had a superb holiday at the Porto Bay Falesia in January and wanted to return January 2010. I have heard from the Porto Bay Group that it will not be open from mid January until mid February - the time we wanted to go. Not surprising really as the hotel was only about 10% full last month.
We are now looking for an alternative hotel. The Riu Palace is a possibility - we did go down there one evening and it did look very impressive.
Anyone have any other suggestions - don't really mind where but I must have sea views!! Also not in the price bracket of the Tivoli Marinotel please!

stayed at the riu palace two years ago and everything was excellent about this hotel especially the food. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. As you know the area is nice and quiet. - Trish
We stayed at Regency Palace and it was absolutely great!
I think the Regency Palace is in Madeira and not the Algarve!!
