I assume you have just been - is the new ride in Universal open yet, just says Spring in most papers etc.

No I haven't just been, but I read about it and thought people might like to be fore-warned! Makes it a bit less disappointing if you are not expecting to go on it! This is the full list:-

Magic Kingdom

Space Mountain will be closed from April 19, 2009 until November 21, 2009 for
refurbishment.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority will be closed from April 19 through August 24,
2009.

The Hall of Presidents is closed for rehab through July 1, 2009.

The Heritage House Shop is closed until July 1, 2009.

Epcot

Electric Umbrella is closed for refurbishment through April 6, 2009.

Refreshment Port is closed for refurbishment until April 4, 2009.

The Simpsons ride is open at Universal, but not the new rollercoaster. The website just says 'coming spring 2009', see here:

not worried about the others mentioned but hope rip r is ok for when i go in May.... sure its spring already so surprised there are no dates yet.

There are rumours that they are having problems with building this rollercoaster. Something about the initial uphill part not being in the right place to connect with the tower..... So the rumour is that it will not now open before late summer. Certainly you would think 'spring' would mean they would have announced a date by now!
