Nice one Pebbles! Seems you like the slots (so do I) and I saw a prog today on the old electric fish tank that said the slots at Green Valley Ranch were amongst the "loosest" in Vegas, did you find a difference?

Fun to read Pebbles, sounds like a great trip.

Pebbles,

Forgive my ignorance but what is the Aladdin CEARLY deal?

It was a deal that I got from and email from them. If you sign up to receive email offers from the casinos, you often get nice offers like this one.

Here is a link.

I enjoyed reading your trip report Pebbles, thanks for sharing it. Which other buffets did you try and how did you rate them? We still didn't make it to Ellis Island this time. We reckoned that by the time we paid for a taxi there and back we were as well to go to a buffet on the strip. Was it worth the trip?

We thought Paris had the best breakfast buffet until we tried the Wynn. It was oustanding! Fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with creme fraiche as well as the usual melon, etc. They also had bacon which was handcarved to order, Chinese food available and loads of desserts such as carrot cake and strawberry gateau.

The first day we were seated in the conservatory which is a really lovely setting. Loads of people kept taking photos of it.

Luci,

Ellis Island is a really short walk along Flamingo. In fact if you walk towards the monorail stop inside Bally's then go outside instead of turning right, you are already half way there.

We did loads of Buffets - our favourite is still Paris, with Aladdin a close second.

I will work out a list and post it later.

We did consider walking it, but decided it may not be very safe at night. I've just read on another site that someone was mugged in their parking lot recently.

How long do you think it would take to walk from the Barbary Coast? may finally get there next time.

Pebbles,
Thanks for the link. I've tried getting onto the Aladdin mailing list but can't seem to find the link to it on their website. May have to book now for next May and then keep an eye on the website for the promo offers.

Not long at all. We walked it four times in all, but I can't say it felt very far. Sorry I can't be more specific. It is quite a busy area, and well lit, so I can only assume that the attack was in the back parking lot. you don't need to go anywhere near there if you are walking.

Just done a mapquest and it came out as 0.85 miles form Barbary Coast to Ellis Island. Farther than I thought.

jim,

It took me a while to find it. Can't remember where it was in the end. If I remember correctly, it made a difference which web browser I used. Hope the link helps.

Can't edit my answer. So here is some more info on the Aladdin.

If you go to guest book, you can sign up and just tick the boxes for what you are interested in.

hope that helps.

John,
It was the link for joining the mailing list I was after, not where to find the promo offers. Thanks anyway, I had come across Fatwallet previously but had forgotten, so good reminder, cheers.
I'll try the guestbook Pebbles, thanks.

Pebbles,

Good report! Sounds like you had a great time. Are you planning to go back????

Lesley,

Hopefully we will get back in May next year, otherwise it will be November again.

We love it there, as I know you do, from your reports.

When are you off again?

Nice Report, glad you had a good time.

Ah, no more plans. Not sure what's happening with hubby's job just now, so not planning anything. I have a week off work in late January, but not even planning anything then.

Just back from Australia (Perth) and Dubai though, so I've had my shot of the sun for a bit anyway.
