Going to Albufuira in June for a chilling out week, flying into Faro but no transport arranged, car hire is going to be £100 foir the week plus petrol.
As i am chilling out for a week, how useful is a car out there apart from airport travel from and to, going with the misses and 12yo daughter, who also both want to chill?
How much does coach from and to airport cost roughly, need to work out if cost effective?

If you are going just to chill, the major attractions you might want to go to have pick ups in town (Zoomarine, Water parks, Shopping Centre etc).
You can book in one of the many agents scattered around town, inclusive of transport.
You don't need a car if you are staying in town, busses, tourist train and taxis will look after your needs.
Taxi ride is about 4 euros anywhere within Albufeira.

As I said in another post, for what it costs, I would hire a car. Taking in to account the cost of transfers too and from Faro, a hire car would cost around 65 euros for the week.

By the time you pay transfers you are just as well hiring a car.
Even if going for a relaxing holiday I always hire a car to give you independence, I dont like public transport apart from taxis...................anywhere.
Cant remember the last time I went on hols without hiring a car
So much better to be able to go where you want and when you want. We usually hire a villa mind you so a car is usually necessary.
