Hi to all,
Please could any one give some advice for vegetarians best places to eat out. We have booked in the Zante Maris Hotel Tsilivi for a week in July Bed & Breakfast. Also any good bars for evening entertainment and best tasting lager.
Thanks Steve
Hi townhill 22! The Greeks love their fresh salads and veggies. You will have no trouble whatsoever finding something tasty to eat wherever you go.
I agree. I'm not Veggie but do eat a lot of veggie food and Greece is a Veggie paradise. Enjoy
Hi Steve
We stayed in Tsilivi last year and as a veggie I had no problems at all as someone said greek food is brilliant for us veggies
Over the next few days I will look at some info I have and let you know the names of some of the restaurants I found - but most had something and you could be there for a fortnight and eat something different - unusual for veggies to have a widechoice.

A lot of Greek food is favorable for vegetarines, even if you don't eat fish
the menu's usually explain what goes into a meal so if you are a vegan I'm sure you'll find something we have a Greek friend who's daughter is veggie.
pojo

Hi Steve,
Have not forgotten the names of the restaurants just trying to get on the PC this week as we are off for half term - think it would be quieter at work!!!!
I do not eat fish so the restaurants we tried I had vegetable mousakka, stuffed vegetables, the odd pizza, greek salads etc, if you do not here from me by the end of the week send me a message on here just to remind me - my mouth is watering at the thought of those meals!!!
We are of to just near Alykes this year, not that we didn't love Tsilivi we did but we couldn't find any apartments that ticked all the 'boxes'
Irene - Roll on 30th July

Can't place the accommodation that you are staying at Steve we stayed at the Alamis so if you can get a map and find the Alamis in relation to where you are staying you may find the restaurants I mention. Our fave restaurants where Maina (left out of Alamis and at the top of the road opp Utopia (bar) they did a beautiful Greek Salad, also had an omelette in there when I wanted something plain one evening.
Menir (right from Alamis Apts), however other people from apt went and they said the service was very slow!!!, Premier and Zeus on the main road, Athena (opp Tizzys) and Adriani's (by Popeys). Didn't have a bad meal in any, friendly staff - did take some vouchers off the internet for free wine at Adriani's and used one no problem - local wine but hey it was ok. We ate in most restaurants twice and boy they remember you!!!!
As I said in a previous post I ate a mixture of salads, stuffed vegetables, vegetable moussaka, spaghettii and one evening just had lots of different starters, dips etc.
Hope this helps.
Any other info you require please do not hesitate to ask.
Irene - 8 weeks and counting!!!!!!!
