It is very easy to travel to Zante and Ithaki by ferry from Kefalonia and no there are no restrictions on the ferry that we have ever encountered Once while staying in Lefkas a couple had come over for the day from Kefalonia it was early in the season and the ferry boat back to Kefalonia was cancelled and they had to find a room for the night but that was in 1992 and as I say very early into the season.

Hi pojo. We are here in Skala. We have hired a car for 4 days but unfortunately we havent made it to Zante, maybe we will try Zante for our holiday next year but some reports have put us off (too commercialised).

Hello pargaluvva don't blame you not going to Zante many years ago we absolutely loved the place not built up but am sure you will love Kefalonia when you get there just returned after our 21st visit still find everywhere just perfect for us people so friendly some places still very Greek if you are a beach person some out of this world beaches, hope you enjoyed Sidari more than we did maybe in our 60's not our area but understand younsters are on holiday too.

Hi pojo. We have just returned from Kefalonia (our third visit, last visit 8 years ago). We were a little bit disappointed with Skala, it was a too British for our liking. I dont think we will return to Kefalonia because we have seen all it has to offer us. I hope they dont spoil it like so many places

Hi pargaluvva, yes I agree about Skala being too British we visited as our daughter and son in law are going 20th June not for me, we always stay in Lixouri this remains Greek as it is a working town the beaches are a taxi ride away it's not in any brouchures at the moment but is reachable by the net but I believe Agia Efimia (spelling maybe wrong) is also a very nice place to stay that's according to one of our Greek friends who owns the Apolafsi in Lixouri if you wanted to go there it would have to be independant owners Babis and Spiro Mourelatos at apolafsi@apolafsi.gr has everything. can stay b & b full board , good home cooked food, swimming pool, either have a room only, studio, views out of this world. but happy holidays where ever you go.

Hi pojo. I still rate Kefalonia as one of my favourite and most scenic Greek destinations. We had a car and travelled around (our favourite places are Assos, Sami and Aghia Efimia (I also like Poros near the port).
I thought Thomsons did packages to Lixouri. We are going to Parga in August. This is now my favourite place in Greece

HI pargaluvva not don't parga but have been to Lefkas which we really enjoyed also Lesvos in actual fact have done several others too many to name but must try Parga as have heard many good reports on it, but where ever you go enjoy.
