Promotion code box which is at the left hand side of the search botton on the homepage.
If you are trying to book a very late / special deal (ie already very cheap, say for example less than £100), the promotion code box does not appear 
It's as jojouk says, it's on the homepage. http://www.xl.com/
You should have no problems if you enter your details there, and put in the code when you start your search.
