we went at xmas it is a very nice hotel and spotlessly clean i found the staff mostly were great with the english, you have to remember they are not used to the brits as it has normally been a german resort (not just the hotel)and the germans wont put up with rubbish like a lot of brits will but most of the staff actually dislike the germans and are over the moon that the brits are taking over the hotel (we out numbered them)
as for taxi's they are fine except they will overcharge you, you should not pay more than 5 egyptian for any where in hurghada + your tip, dont get in one without agreeing a price. the taxi's at the hotel are much more expensive but the driver will pick you up and look after you if need be. the nightlife in hotel is very relaxed and the food is fine the main restaraunt is'nt huge but that can be a good thing there is always something on that you will like

Well the time has passed so quickly that it is now just two weeks and one day till we go!!!!!!!!! So excited

Well just returned from another week at Grand Siva and still no complaints. The hotel was great and some of the staff even remembered us from the last time, which was nice.
Can't really add anymore to my hotel review as it says it all.

we are off to the siva again in october, the first time we went was last october. You have a wide selection of restaurants just outside the hotel with something for everyone.
The hotel beach is good for younger children as it has a nice flat shelf and they have water sports for older children. The pool is also a good size.
Last year we went as a couple but this year we are taking our 15 year old as he is dying to try the quad bikes.

thanks, you'll have to let us know what it's like this year when you get back and if your son enjoys it. Our older 2 sons will enjoy snorkelling with Dad while I paddle in the sea with the 2 girls. It looks gorgeous and I think we'll probably be booking this week! They're really excited about going.

your husband and sons will have to try the trip to Giftan island for the snorkelling you stop at 2 reefs then a break on the island its self, last year i was swimming with a turtle which was just out of this world.
