Can anyone give me a idea of the average price of a large beer and a glass of wine in Lagos. Also what is the Portuguese for a dry or medium dry white wine -any reccomendations for a nice wine.

seque vinho branco means dry white wine. I only drank red, so cannot offer advice. You can expect to pay around €2 or €2.50 for your drinks in the touristy parts. Drink where the locals drink and you can get a beer for €1!!

There are lots of nice white wines, but you should definitely try Monte Velho - well recommended (white and red) by many members of this forum!
Always find the Casal Garcia Vinho Verde goes down quite nicely myself.

For those who know me by reputation,I suppose there's no need for me to endorse Monte Velho.
For a change ( a little more expensive,but,in my opinion, no better)you could try J.P.Ramos' Trincadeira 2004.

....you could manage an extra five miles if you pour some of it in your tank !!
