Can we get to Turgutries from Dalyan, how far, which is the best way to go, thats if it is possible.
How much would a taxi be? Thanks Joan
Bodrum is about 3 hours from Dalyan by car and it is a nice drive in places. Take the main road up to Mugla, by next summer hopefully it will be finished and will be all dual carriageway, stop somewhere on the hill and take in the view of Akyaka. Take the by-pass past Mugla and 10-20 mins out of Mugla there is a left turn and the road becomes single carriage way and a bit twisty in places through to Milas. Again a nice hill down into Milas, not as picturesque a view as the Mulga hill but worth a quick break. Milas to Bodrum are good roads and it gets nice and scenic just before Bodrum.
Not sure how much it would cost by Taxi but it wouldn't be cheap.
How about going Turkish style with a bus from Ortaca, they offer good service, regular times and they are cheap, don't know the price but would guess around 20-30YTL for a single ticket. Turkish busses are nothing like the UK ones, they leave on time, arrive on time, comfortable, have break stops - a pleasent way to travel.
Hope this helps

Hi
Sorry, this is another question. Does anyone know how far it is from Icmeler to Turgutries. My friend has raved about Turgutries and as we always go to Icmeler I thought we could visit next year and have a look round if it's not too far.
thanks

I dont think it would be that practical to go from Icmeler to Turgutries, unless you stayed overnight. If you hired a car it is somewhere between 80 and 90 miles by road, and travelling by road in Turkey is not as easy as travelling in the UK. If you went by dolmus, you'd have to go into Marmaris first, don't know whether you can get a dolmus direct to Bodrum, but from Bodrum you'd then need to get a taxi or dolmus to Turgutries. Alternatively you can get a hydrofoil from Marmaris to Bodrum, then again a dolmus to Turgutreis. So to attempt to go there and back in one day(specially in the heat), with the connections would be quite a feat, unless of course you are very seasoned travellers!
Thanks for the info Alfie. Didn't think it would be as far as that and don't really fancy driving. Might look into the hydrofoil idea though. thanks

There is a brilliant bus service from Marmaris to Bodrum, very reasonably priced (Less than £10 return) The busses are very clean, bottled water was supplied free of charge, the driver and other passengers were incredibly helpful. There is a twenty minute stop in the middle and the trip took about three and a half hours. We found it very enjoyable. The dolmus from Bodrum to Turgutries takes about 30mins.
Turgutries is very nice, but quite a small town.
