In October over a 14 day period you can expect one period of 3 to 5 days when the weather will be unsettled - ie, significant amounts of cloud, which may or may not include some rain.

It will be warm, 22 if its cloudy, 26 if its sunny, and rarely below 18 at night. Sea temp 22 to 24.

The unsettled weather is more common north of Athens/the gulf of Patras.

Last year we were in Patmos for the first 2 weeks of October - the first week was glorious the second a bit stormy, but still warm (made it to the beach for at least part of every day). On our last 2 days, it was back to glorious again - I sat and sunbathed quite happily all the way back to Kos on the catamaran!

You should find the weather in Rhodes very warm in early October. Last year we had to use the aircon for the first time which is ridiculous.
