Fancy this hotel for next year, but looking on reviews there were only 2 and most recent was July 05.
I know it is more expensive but I have shares maturing and guess I will never be able to afford such a place again so want to make sure I get it right!
I have a 4 year old son and cleanliness, fantastic food(with fab kiddies choice), good kids club/evening entertainment and right on a great beach are what I am looking for- not much to ask eh?
Does the four Seasons live up to this?
I can only say that I stayed next door but one at the Amathus, the Four Seasons looks the classer of the two, from the sea front side, it has a tapered terrace effect gardens with pool, which comes down to the coastal path/walkway, then the beach is infront.
There is a nice beach area with loungers, but it is not a large stretch of golden sand...just small cove type stretches...but very pleasant. It tends to have celebs staying sometimes...as does the Amathus. My advice would be to pay the extra and have a seaview. While this end of Limassol is the quieter and nicer in my opinion, you walk out of the front of the hotels on to a dual carrigeway, which could be noisey. Opposite are places to eat and bars shop etc, but not to bad at this end, plus the road has cars taxi and deliver vans etc, it is not the main motorway, and I never found it difficult to cross. We had a seaview and you heard no traffic on the balcony.
I would go look on Tripadvisor at the reviews, they should have a few.
Cyprus does tend to have its fair share of luxury hotels, they have great standards, more like here than luxury hotels in some countries.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Jayjaya,
will look in tripadvisor,
forgot to say that I had stayed in Hotel Atlantica(good) and Golden Arches (not brilliant) a few years ago so know the area roughly. I remember looking at the amathus and saying "One day I'II stay in that hotel" but even with my small windfall I dont think I'II be able to afford that!

Julie.....I priced both and the Amathus was several hundred pounds less, you must shop around, am off to Cyprus in June and the hotel near Paphos is £300 each more with High St travel agents, so hubby and I have saved £600 on the price. Got it off teletext, with the Amathus it was with a company on the internet, even had taxi included from Larnaca.

Hi Julie
The Four Seasons Hotel is head and shoulders above the rest and is arguably the best hotel in Cyprus. I had lunch with some friends there a couple of weeks ago & the food, wine & service were excellent (if a tad pricey).
The Sultan of Brunei, believed to be the worlds richest man, left a $170,000 tip for the hotel staff when he stayed there in 1993.
But don't expect to go slobbing around in the hotel bars and restaurants in your swimmers - definately a no no!!
Go and pamper yourselves.
Regards,
Nigel (aka EPHMH)

Four Seasons is a favourite hotel for rich Russian. I am Russian myself, but I live in European country, and prefer to rest in places where I can't see very many Russians.
Veronica, I am laughing at your discription of your fellow countrymen, stayed at the Amathus, and us Brits and Germans got a nice towel spread on the sun bed and another for swimming, everyday 4 of your countryfolk came and had four towels each.......honestly...oneday I heard a German remark on this.......I couldn't control my grin, a bit latter he spoke to me and asked did I speak German.....everyday the group of Germans would say hello, it was great for Anglo German relations.
