My wife and I took a cruise on summit for our 25th anniversay. It was our first cruise and we were hoping it was going to be everything we\'d been told to expect. It was and more!
The ship is stunning. The decor and overall ambience was first class with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The cabins are not large, but very very comfortable and every time we left it, it was tidied and cleaned and all the towels replaced. Our room attendant Mahmodi was really friendly and helpfull and always there. It became a bit of a challenge to come back to the cabin and not have him pop up from ...
somewhere with a cheery greeting! We became convinced he must sleep outside our door!
His attitude was mirrored by every other member of staff on the ship. Every one of them would greet you everytime you passed them without fail.
In the resteraunt it was the same. Each table had a waiter, an assistant waiter, and a wine waiter. All of which were very attentive and more than happy to discuss the menu and wine with you. The only thing we found a little dissapointing was that we booked the late sitting which was stated as being 8 o\'clock. It wasn\'t it was 8.45 which means if you chatting with new found friends, you won\'t finsh dinner until almost 11pm which was a bit late to then go to the club. Just bear in mind when deciding that the early sitting is 6 o\'clock and if you\'ve been on an all day excursion it\'ll be a rush to get ready for dinner.
The portions of the main course are not large, but if your a big eater like me you can have as much from the menu as you like! And even ask for more!
On the evening of our anniversry we had twenty of the staff surround our table and sing to us after presenting us with a personnalised cake and bottle of champagne which went nicely with the other bottle already left in our room along with flowers that morning!
All of the excursions are carefully planned out, and there was never an occasion where we were left to wonder what happened next. Some however are a little expensive and I would suggest that if you don\'t particularly want a guided tour, don\'t pay for the \'on your own\' trips. Our Rome on your own was basically a drop off and pick up by coach and cost $170 which was a bit much when you think that at the dock side there are a hundred taxi\'s all willing to negotiate for your business and would take you into Rome for ten euros!
The excorted trips though are excellent and the guides really know there stuff, and you are looked after very well.
On the ship there is plenty to do during the days at sea, and it\'s impossible to get bored. There are events happening all through the day and evening and you can do as much or as little as you want.
The shows in the theatre are excellent. I read reviews before we travelled that said they were a bit second class, believe me they\'re not! The stage and sets are as good as you\'ll see in any west end show and the singers and dancers are amazing. You won\'t miss any of the shows because they\'re on twice. Early for the late diners and late for the early diners.
Overall I would not hesitate to reccomend this ship to anyone, regardless of which cruise your taking.
In a word....Awsome!
Enjoy
