Hi Gary, we went to the El Wekala in January because we got a good deal. Although we had a good time, I would not visit the hotel again. The Intercontinental in Taba Heights is so much nicer, although pricier. The El Wekala is quite out of date now, it needs a bit of a refurb, the food wasn't great and it is not on the beach. There is building work going on behind the hotel but there was very little work happening and it didn't disturb our holiday. The only good point is that you are close to the shops, bars and restaurants. We have been to Egypt 7 times and would not go back to this hotel.
