I swithered between 2 hotels one being the Grand Oasis Marien and the Bahia Principe San Juan. I did check out reviews and it seemed that the Grand Oasis seemed to have better reviews. I booked the hotel 2 days ago and since booking have read a few things which are worrying me.
The name has seemingly changed to be live grand marien and one of the things reported back on a topic was that it has gone down hill quite a bit. In fact a lady who had been 3 times previously said that most of the original entertainment staff had gone, the food and service had also deteriorated, but the thing that is worrying me the most is the fact it says prostitutes were being allowed to use the premises despite it being a family resort.
Also in the Thomas Cook brochure it states there is a free mini bar restocked in the rooms, but in the Thomson brochure it states the mini bar is not part of the all inclusive. Reviews of the grand oasis marien most people mention the mini bar being restocked but no charge, but a few mention being charged for using the water in it and others saying you got 2 beers and 2 juices and then paid if you wanted more.

Has anyone been recently or offer any advice.
