Just come home from two weeks in sunshine 20/07/07 Family of 2 Adults, 3 children from ages 15 to 10. The first time i had visited Menorca and certainly not the last. What a wonderful place Menorca, loads to do and see as a family. We stayed at Los Delphines apartments a little dated not the home comforts but hey its a HOLIDAY. As we left the appartments we turned right and then left into the main road in the town and first bar on the left was CASTAWAY bar, a lovley little cafe bar the welcome was excellent, run by Diego and his dad Juan food was second to none, we experienced other bars but this one always came out on top, they put on their own entertainment while you enjoyed the delights of their bar.

During the evenings the bar was run by Martin and Erica they also give you a warm freindly welcome along with a swift and reliable service that was second to none again, little into our two weeks we found this bar catered for all our needs as a family this included, a full menu form breakfast to evening meals (and it was good home cooked food as well try their kebabs) money exchange, local trips, and most of all competetive car hire (no one could compete) you could do the trips but a car is a must on this island as it gives you more freedom and time, along with Sky sports on a large plasma TV this was like a home from home (except i didnt have to do the dishes)

As you can guess we spent some of time at this bar it was reasonable and as the menu says "OUR TERRACE IS SMALL BUT OUR WELCOME IS BIG" and boy they lived up to that saying. On the whole from father, son, down to the chef they make sure you dont leave their bar with out knowing you had visited them.

After hiring the car other places of intrest i would recomend was Son Bou beach a lovely tranquill place, can be crowded bit well worth a visit. Cala Galdana was another lovely place but as it is smaller than Son Bou was very busy on the beach there, Mahon the capital of the island another nice place but for those exceptional photos of the island the monestry should be a must as its the highest point on the island.

On the whole our experience of Menorca was exceptional the people were friendly they also spoke good english which helps, beaches clean and enjoyable but the highlight must have been meeting Diego and company as this added to our holiday happiness so to all at Castaway Davies family would like to thank you all for your help and making our holiday a happy one. (Dudes you all rock) and deffo see you all in 2008
