Going out tonight but can do another quick bit.
Wednesday 18 Aprl - After a good nights sleep you feel so much better so off to the beach. The hotel run a bus between 9am-6pm to Baga Beach that leaves on the hour. Missed the bus today so got Rupesh to come and collect us and drop us off at the Oceanic. Had a nice breakfast and then some serious sunbathing in the baking heat. It is definitely warmer than February but the breeze also seems stronger, so its bearable. I usually like a break in the afternoon and pop along to the small internet cafe close to the shack. Half hour on line costs about 25 rupees, its fabulous. Had a nice lunch at the Oceanic. Emily doesnt eat a lot of spicy food at home so she is asking me about all the different foods and what to try. Drank loads at the oceanic (soft drinks!!) and for breakfast and lunch it was 510 rupess for both of us for the whole day. Emily is gobsmacked!!! Left the beach pretty sharp cos we need to be at Lazydays about 8ish.
Stopped off at the wine shop (that what they seem to call the licenced grocers in Goa  ) bought some vodka and honeybee for the room. Had a couple (or maybe a few  ) drinks in the room before heading of to Lazydays. Had a great night (will post some photos later), apart from me and Emily there was Dribyar, his wife and his daughter (Goa4life). Wife and daughter soon departed tho to get ready for Club Cubana. Katie P and her hubby, tweeks and catweazle. We did have a laugh, but if I find out who suggested going to Club Cubana I will Kill them!!!!! Oh the evil drink! We were going, then we werent going. Anyway I called Rupesh and we all piled into his taxi (except Catweazle). Poor Mr KatieP was lying on the back floor of the taxi! but we got there in one piece.
Club Cubana .... well what can I say. Its like a massive maze  it was so busy and took ages to get a bar that seemed a bit quieter and try get served, then there were no seats and it was very hot, it was also very dark and when youve had a honeybee (or ten  ) its is hard to get around the place. Only had two drinks and we left and got a taxi back to the hotel. Thanks tweeks for helping us out the place, cos we would never have found the entrance!!! Left everyone else there. I am not sure how long they stayed or if they liked the place. I didnt, thought it was dreadful.
So we are in the taxi going back to the hotel and just before the Lagoa Azul there is a small local bar and restaurant called Sebastians so because we saw some life in there we told the taxi driver "STOP!!!!" and in we popped for a nightcap. Dont know when we got back to the room probably about 3am. The nice wee nightwatchman was making sure we were ok and didnt fall etc :D
More soon .....

That 850rps for a taxi was over the top - we paid 650rps to the Lagoa from the pre-paid place at the airport. A lot of these taxi drivers who 'befriend' us are simply taking the mick. That's :offtop there's another thread for that.
I'm loving your report - keep it up - we'll encourage you

Thursday 19 April - :omg Hangover from hell
:rage I should never have gone to that :swear Club Cubana!!!!
Thats it no more drinking for me!!!! :rofl Yes I know I do talk some :swear at times.
Eventually made it to the Oceanic, dont know what time at tho, cos I am not really with it today and my head is sore :bhead and I feel sick
Later in the day had a massage on the beach, nice and relaxing and makes you feel a (wee) bit better. Got the bill at the Oceanic and no money to pay  forgot to go the money exchange. Said I would come back later and pay but Raju says "Its ok, you pay later, tomorrow or next year!" Did stop off that night on the way out and pay my debts!
Decided on a nice meal and quiet night. Set off to After 7. The owner seems very concerned cos Mr G isnt there, I told him he was busy working and he insisted on knowing if he was ok. They are so nice and never forget a person. No alcohol tonight. Hangover is clearing up, but drinking is not a good idea. Back at the hotel for 11.15 for a nightcap at the bar (coke for me  ) and off to bed!

How could you have a hangover? You left early. :shrug

I think this was the day that Mr P went to bed early so I had room service and a night in front of the telly. The Highland does a nice butter chicken. 8)

Maybe something to do with the fact that we started drinking in the room about 6ish :glynis , went out to Lazydays about 8ish, didnt have any dinner at all that evening, left Club Cubana after 2 drinks and then made our way to Sebastians (near the LA) and probably got back to the hotel about 3 or 4am! (With our escort the security man, making sure we were ok  bless him :D )
Believe it or not, ive never had a hangover in Goa and I didnt like it one little bit!!! When the temperature is in the 100s the next day, it doesnt mix very well with a hangover :x I felt dreadful!

O Gemma! the hangover from hell, but at least the Security Man (Calcutta as we nicknamed him) was on hand to make sure you 'slept tight'!!

Yes he was such a star and so friendly, he did tell us he was from Cacutta. We have some pictures taken with him. I will post them in the photo gallery once ive got them sorted out.

Great, look forward to seeing them, we tried to take a video on my phone of his 'good night.... sleep tight', but it didn't come out very well, and he got shy when he realised what we were doing!

I am going to finish off this trip report tonight. I never seem to have anytime so I am just going to do a very quick condensed version thats all. Means I wont bore you all as much either

Friday 20 April - Feel much better no hangover today. Had a nice relaxing day at the Oceanic. Went to the big new posh chemist on the Baga/Calangute Road (Near the Ronil Beach Hotel) and stocked up on loads of medicines and other things all for 630 rupees. Stop at the wine shop and keep well stocked up on the honeybee and vodka :glynis
Ate at the Oceanic tonight as there is a Karaoke night on, very nice chicken tikka masala and nice starters but cos its near the end of the season the karaoke is cancelled. Not to worry. Wandered along to St Anthonys shack for a few drinks. Met Dribyar, Goa4life and our taxi driver Rupesh came for a drink as well. Lovely sitting at midnight relaxing with a drink watching the world go by ..... bliss

Saturday 21 April - Boy its hot today :sun This is the hottest I have ever felt in Goa. Got a taxi to the Calangute steps today and had a walk along the beach. So many shacks to choose from and dont know which one to go into. Finally settled for Bosco's shack. Very nice and plenty of beds. Had breakfast here, cant remember what we had but it must have been acceptable. So much hassle here and so many sellers - its driving me crazy   Even with the umbrella over you, you can still feel your skin burning. anyway too many sellers pestering you every 2 mins so we leave here about 2.30 and walk along the beach to Baga and go into the Oceanic. Almost burnt to a cinder by the time we reach the shack  Had lunch and sat inside the shack as too hot to go outside.
Visisted Mackies market in the evening. Went to see our friend Sangeeta and gave her some more clothes for her 4 children. She is so grateful and wants to give me something free from her stall. Loads and loads of power cuts tonight in Mackies must have been about 7 or 8 in the 2 hours we were there.
Popped into the Marinha Dourada, I Love this hotel so much. Gave some books and toys to the jeweller for his little girl who is 2 1/2 now. Told him we will see him in November.
Got a taxi to Baga and went into O'Pescador for a lovely meal. Always nice in this restaurant and never have any complaints. One of the waiters wanted to buy my mobile phone from me :hmmm wondering how he would be able to afford the £200 to pay for it.
Left the restaurant and walked along to KCs Scottish Bar for a few drinks and headed up the road for about 12.30.
Will do more in an hour or so, my wee fingers are sore typing

Just caught up again, and seen your comments on the piccies, will wander over to the albums in a while and see if you've added them yet :D

I'm pleased to see that you saw Sengita, was a little worried as she wasn't at Anjuna on our last Wednesday, which was also our last market and we wanted to do some business with her then.

Agree with you about O'Pescadors, always a good restaurant, lovely prawns and lobster.

Your doing well with the report :D
