On other trips over the years we were told the cliff was eroding and the hotel wasn't safe. it has been closed for quite a few years. But they are working on it now the view is amazing from there. Carol

When I was in Benidorm in March, the hotel was completely gutted down to the bare shell (existing external walls and interior floors) all wrapped up in netting with no sign of any work taking place.

IMO: they are going to have to work 24/7 to get it looking like anything remotely resembling a building, never mind a 5* hotel for September.

yes sanji it was completely gutted but they were working on it when we went in April. Like you say its going to take a lot of work to get it finished in time.

i gather its still shut, will have a look when im there for new year.

I must say I was amazed when viewing the hotel last week, compared to the state it was in, when I viewed it in March....although it's not a big building, they have really "worked" on this.

It looks like there's just the inside of the hotel to re-fit out, but it still sits rather precariously on the edge of the cliff.
I've had quite a few drinks in the hotel in the past and the panoramic view over the Mediterraneo is fantastic.
