(For those who didn't already know)
Just thought I would mention that I believe by law every restaurant in Menorca has to offer a Menu of the Day (3 courses with water or wine included)
I think they only have to do this at lunchtime although I have read one article that states some restaurants also offer a Menu of the Night
Anyway the reason I mention this is because although some of the restaurants advertise the menu at the entrance they will tend to give you their normal a la carte type menu when you sit down
The value of the menu of the day often has to be seen to be believed.
We were normally paying approx 7 euros (just over £5) for 3 courses - typical example below
Melon starter - normal menu price (3.95 euros)
Spaghetti Bolognaise (5.95 euros)
Lemon Pancakes (3.95 euros)
Plus 2 glasses of free wine
To be honest to a lot of people a 3 course lunch is too much but
it worked out great for a family with small kids like ours because me and my wife would order the menu of the day and the kids would have the starters and desserts and we would have the main course
So whatever you do in Menorca never have lunch without asking to see the menu of the day first !!

15 years ! Well done,please tell me where I can get a 'Menu del dia' for 7 euros ? Have you sampled the nosh at good old Bar Espana in Es Castell yet ? Very popular with the 'Locals' always an indication of good value.

I will add your recommenedation in Es castell to my list - we love es castell anyway so that will be great
We found the cheapest Menu of the days to be in the touristy/commercial areas where the normal prices were already cheap if you know what I mean
The one I gave an example of was not far from The Water Park in Delfines
but cannot remember the name
Plus highly recommended one for the Menu of the Day was La Rueda in Saint Luis - but cannot remember the exact price - that place was full of locals at lunch time
Thing is about me is that I can't sit still for more than 10 minutes so I am always looking for different places to visit hence all the places I then recommend
