Firstly to avoid any confusion my mum is always posting on here with my username!
Right my boyfriend and I want a 10 day holiday in October, we are on a budget but really dont want to go to any of the big resorts with all the english chains etc.
We would like somewhere warm enough to sunbathe, with plenty to see and do. Between us we have been to Lanzarote, majorca, Costa del sol, portugal, Thailand and New york. We both want to try something different now.
Greece is a possibility, would consider long haul if budget isnt stretched too much.
How about Turkey, its still warm in October and accommodation is good value for money.
The weather would be fab in the Red Sea. Portland do 10 days to Egypt 
I agree with sarong, I'd suggest Icmeler (Turkey) which is nice at the begining of October. It's still hot (30's) but not too hot. My mum come back last week in the middle of the heat wave with temperatures approaching 50!! It's quietening down from the bustle of the season at that time of year so the beaches and boats aren't crammed. There's plenty to see and do and it's good value for money.

Some good deals to Bali out there. Bit more expensive to get to, but very cheap when there.
