I got a fairfx card last year after years of travellers cheques.. it's a prepay visa card similar to the post office one but with lower fees (€1.50 for cash rather than €2) and more importantly a better exchange rate than the Post Office.. just checked and fairfx is 1.1175 compared to 1.1055 at the moment.

To answer your question though, i used my card in both Ayia Napa and Kos last year with no problems at all, but i only used it to draw cash, i didn't use it for purchases as I thought it would be easier to keep track of the balance on the card.

I've just topped the card up for Ayia Napa this year and i have loaded it with €1206.00, and i will draw €300 cash four times, the €6 will cover the 4 x €1.50 withdrawal fee!!
