They are both excellent itineries, and I would hesitate to say one is better than the other. What I would say is you want your sis to have the best experience, and she has a "thing" about seeing Venice. They say that sailing in and out of Venice is to die for, and one of cruising's "must do's". Dubrovnik is spectacular, compact, and a fantastic easy day at your own pace.

It seems to me that she would be "half way there" to enjoying the cruise if Venice were included. She will, like the rest of us, get the bug and can do Rome & Naples etc. on her next one!

Just to say, as a personal preference, we absolutely loved the Adriatic cruise, slightly different itinerary to that mentioned, BUT Venice is, as hamrag suggests, the MOST amazing sailaway! A memory which will stay with me forever.....Dubrovnik is amazing......and the sight of all the Croatian islands as you sail down the adriatic is breathtaking!
My opinion only :cheers
