I have recently written to Jet2 regarding a delayed flight from Bodrum (Turkey) to Manchester on 9 August (this following the ruling regarding compensation payments).

I was delayed by 24 hours in August 2012. Jet2 have written to say that they will not pay compensation as the reason for the delay was "safety". Now, the original delay may have been a safety issue but they sent a replacement plane to collect us with a crew that they knew would be "out of hours" when they arrived in Bodrum, thus making our delay much longer than it could have been.

As we were given very little information as to the reason for the original delay on 9 August, is there any way that I can find this out? I vaguely remember that the plane that came to collect us had come from somewhere else after taking holidaymakers elsewhere but would like to find out the correct reason for the original delay so that I can write to Jet2 again and "argue my case" with a little more reasoning.
