Salou will definately be beginning its shut down for the season. Apparently quite a few places have already closed after what has been a quiet season according to locals (could have fooled me, went it June and it was packed).

The weather in Salou has been excellent recently with temperatures getting up to 29C 84F, but at this time of year it could all change tomorrow (Same goes for Majorca).

There still should be plenty of bars open until 31st October but I think it will be quite quiet.

Lively bars normally include Danny Boy, Christies, The Victoria and then you have the bars which appeal to young people such as 007 Bond and Bus Stop International.

I'm not really sure if Palma Nova would be any livelier than Salou to be honest. Salou has always been very seasonal but from what a friend who lives in Majorca has told me, Palma Nova and Magaluf have also become much more seasonal in the last few years.

Flip a coin, thats my recommendation :cheers
