That is terrible to hear. One always has to be so careful. Did they break in through the locked windows/doors?

If you cannot sleep easy even with doors and windows locked, that is a very sad state of affairs

Unfortunately even taking all the recommended precautions may not be enough. We were broken in a top floor room in the Mediterranean Palace. We had hired a safe and the balcony door was locked. We found the balcony door forced open and the safe in bits - It had come apart very easily it would seem. This was all in broad daylight at about 12 midday. Whilst the hotel did all that they could, the experience will live with me forever. We now carry all valuables on us (and we really limit what we take on holiday now) - at least nobody will get them without a fight. :evil:
