Looks ok for the holiday maker- but those "expats" there, it will make things a lot more difficult!

New rule applies to visa on arrival. Anyone wishing to stay longer than 30 days need to apply for appropriate visa before leaving. No changes for anyone wishing to stay longer except extension to renew dependant visa whilst in Thailand. Most expats would have the longer stay visas.

Not quite as simple as saying most expats would have longer visas. It's now impossible to get longer visas at countries bordering Thailand. ( I get mine from the consulate in Hull.) And there are a lot of guys, such as the one who's post from another board I've copied below, will be very badly affected by this:
