We have never been to Ibiza. Often thought about it but have never actually taken the plunge. I think that previous bad reports about lagar louts and the such has put us off to be honest and I know that this is mainly contained to one area but it has made me think twice about going in previous years.
We have just returned from two fabulous weeks in Cala Millor, Majorca and although we have already been pricing the accommodation up for next year, we would actually like to go somewhere new. Hence searching Ibiza.
Where would be the best resort to go? As mentioned, San An is definitely not our scene. We have been to Calan Bosch in Menorca and visited numerous resorts on Majorca. The beach isnt terribly important as my young daughter doesnt really like it, but a beach nearby would be good. Some evening entertainment is a must (kids mini-disco, good shows etc), plenty do in resort, lots of restaurants (we will be self catering), a good pool with childrens section. Not too much late night noise (say after midnight/1.00am) is a bonus. Is this asking too much?
I am sure that many of you Ibiza fans will be able to offer help and look forward to reading any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
Sarah
I would recommend Es Cana.Smallish resort but with plenty of bars and near to the nice town of Santa Eulalia,Iwouldnt recommend young families wanting some life staying in Santa E though. If you are going self catering then I cant think of many large complexes in Es cana as all all self catering seems to be on a small scale.I would recommend the hotel caribe if you fancy a hotel
Last time we were there The Caribe seemed to have a very healthy kids club. but if you go SC there a numerous bars that provide entertainment for all ages.
Some of the smaller apartments (Zodiac etc) seem to get quite resonable reviews.
Having been to Cala Bona in Mallorca - Es Cana is a similar sort of resort, but perhaps with a bit more choice.
Thanks for your replies. Es Cana looks nice and I have also been recommended Santa Eulalia and Playa Den Bossa. Going to have a major research session and see what I can come up with.
