This hotel should not be advertised at 4 star! And it is far too small to be enjoyed all inclusive. The drinks are very watered down - the beer is tasteless and contains hardly any alcohol and the cocktails taste rank because the fruit juices are so poor.

The food is horrendous. It's the same meal every time - very bland and tasteless. There are no labels telling you what you are eating - so some of the Greek stuff looks like disgusting mush. The only things edible were spaghetti and Greek salad - very boring after two days. There was plenty of bread available but it was all stale. At breakfast, there is one two slot toaster for self service - so you can imagine how long you have to wait for a piece of toast!

On the very first night, we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. The following day we soothed the bites by keeping our legs in the pool - but they got infected as the pool was so dirty - we didn't see it being cleaned very often. So we had to go to the doctors who said our bites were the worst he'd ever seen. They were burning and itching like hell - and kept us awake for two nights - they ruined the first three days of our holiday. Apparently - lots of people from the Orion go to see the doctor with the same problem. So there must be some reason for the quantity of mosquitoes at this hotel.

The rooms were clean enough but the corridors had a bit of a funny smell.

The only trip we went on was to the aqua park - which was excellent but the promised one hour coach trip took two hours because the driver waited a full hour for some other passengers who never showed up!

This hotel is not actually in Rethymnon town - it's just past the quieter Platanis. There are lots of nice tavernas and bars so I would not recommend anybody bothering with half board or all inclusive as you end up eating out anyway - it's so cheap! We got a starter, main course and bottle of wine for 14 euros! Bargain!

So all in all - if you fancy Platanis - Crete - don't stop in this hotel because it's not worth the money!

A nice, small, friendly hotel situated between two busy roads though. We had a really nice time.

The rooms were clean and air-conditioned. Our rooms faced the garden and pool. Pity if you had the rear rooms as they would have faced a busy dual carraigeway!

The food was varied and fresh. We cannot moan at all and all my family were pleased. You have to remember what all inclusive means!! and the drinks, food and snacks were absolutely fine! especially the pina coladas! The staff were friendly and helpful considering this was an international hotel with english, german, dutch, russian and all manner of europeans. The evening enterntainment was poor but we weren't really bothered as we are not knees up people!

We would visit this hotel again and pay the all inclusive price as it was good value.
