Just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and glad to be home.

We booked a double room to sleep up to 4 but actually got a twin room with a 3/4 bed pushed in. The room was very cramped and one single bed had the light and electric plug behind the pillow. There was one small wardrobe for all our clothes.

The room and most of the hotel were very clean but in need of refurbishment as most of the furniture was shabby and worn.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned the lifts. There are 2 for the whole hotel and they only seem to stop at 0 and 8. Sadly there are no rooms on these floors, so if you need to use a lift don't even consider this hotel.

We never had a problem getting a sunbed but some prime spot beds were taken every morning before dawn. I don't know why we blame the germans, the brits are worse!

For a Superfamily hotel the food for children was terrible, unless of course you child likes squid or various concoctions involving ham. The food in the western saloon was dire and you had no idea how long it had been cooked. If that didn't get you the smell from the toilets definately would.

On a good note, the Kidszone staff were fabulous, very friendly and professional. Our only problem was getting our daughter to spend some time with us.

The only reason I could see that people would return to this hotel, many I talked to had, is the entertainment team. They were all brilliant and very friendly. Without them this place would be hell!

We had a late deal and ended up at the San Miguel Hotel. The room was nice and clean and we had a lush view. I agree that the lifts were a pain, so we ended up walking up to the restaurant from floor 1, which i guess was a good thing to make sure we worked off all the food we were eating!

The food was fine, sometimes great, sometimes average. In the restaurant it was what you would expect from a 3 star all-inclusive buffet restaurant. The restaurant manager was really lovely always polite and chatty. The paella was lush when they had that. The mexican place was OK, the tapas good, the chinese lush, the western saloon burgers were a bit dodgy, although i loved the chicken pieces they did. I was plesantly suprised that there was so much choice off food in the resort though so we were never bored with the food.

All the drinks are seriously large measures, and definately try the hierbas, although the one waiter tried to convince me it would sober me up - i can assure you it does the opposite!

(Hmm dont know what happened there half the review disappeared. Anyway: review continued)

Being two young single girls, I can't say the location was ideal as at night there wasn't that much to do - but then it is a family resort.

The entertainment staff were really funny - and the La Bomba song is totally addictive! On Monday night there was an 80s party at a nearby bar which was fun. There are buses to San Antonio but the last one is at 1am. This resort is ideal for families as everything you need is so close.

There was plenty to do during the day with the entertainment staff and we went canoeing in the sea as well which was so much fun!

To be honest all we really wanted was to eat, drink, read our books and sunbathe and thats exactly what we did. The fact that one of the waiters looks exactly like Joey from friends and that Zorro had the most gorgeous eyes Ive ever seen made our stay more interesting! :-)

Overall a great hotel for families!

We stayed in San Miguel Hotel All Inclusive and we had an excellent 12 days in the sun.

Hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels on request.

Hotel and Club could do with an upgrade as the rooms are getting a bit dated. The food was edible but basic, my 4 year old did not eat much as there was not a great deal of choice for children.

Very quiet resort but has everything you need for a family holiday, beach is right on doorstep and pool area is great, although the towels on the beds every morning got a bit much. the staff were very friendly and approachable.

The best factor of the holiday was the entertainment, it was excellent every night something different and the guys were really funny. The kids disco was good. Thomson show leaves a lot to be desired.

We are looking at going back next year.

Booked a late deal - just a couple but got put into family hotel.

The food is fine, if you like chips with every meal or minced meat or meat balls. Very little to choose from no variety at all.

Our room on the top floor (same floor as dininghall) was damp, with mould growing on the walls, dirty the same piece of cotton on the floor when we arrived was still there one week later!

All inclusive drinks - OK if you like plastic cups.

Sun beds plenty of them, not sure about peak times!!!!
But I would like to say that the resort of San Migeul is lovely, clean and beach beautiful. Catch the train if you go?????

Well where do I start? I had thought that it couldn't top my previous year at the hotel, but it could!

The maids were excellent and were working round the clock to make sure everywhere was clean and tidy for us!

The food was better than last year! We stayed at the hotel, but ended up eating in the club restaurant everynight as the manager remembered us from last year! I found that the food was much fresher up there, but it is still good in the hotel! Down at the western saloon the snacks were always freshly cooked, and the hot dogs were just lovely!

I cannot put one fault to the whole of the hotel staff, which is a very hard thing to do! They were fantastic! Jose in the western saloon was brilliant like last year, but watch out for the cocktails! The one he made me I cannot repeat the name on here, but I can say that I slept well that night!

A special mention to David and Ruben who without them, the holiday wouldn't have been the same!

And then we come to the entertainment!!Zoro, Oli, Stan and Natasha! Your fab! All of you! You are brilliant at what you do and you can always put a smile on peoples face!

Boogie Nights was such a brilliant night (Bananas should have won Natasha) and then in Miss San Miguel, who would have thought that at 11 in the night, you would have saw Stan running round in a baby's nappy!

I will definitely be returning to this hotel again, as it is the best hotel I have ever been to and I sit here wishing I was out there now. Although without Stan next year it won't be the same! Before returning I spoke to Oli, who told me that he knew a German family who's 9th year it was there!

Got back today from holiday from hell.

Hated every minute in plastic city as we called it. Food was terrible, cold and tastless. Food in western saloon was even worse.

Shows mainly done by entertainers,Zorro, Ollie, Stan and Natasha, who were all very good at what they do ,also must mention rep Jackie who worked just as hard ,if not more so. However, for what we payed we expected a lot more than that. In two weeks there were only 5 so called profesional acts on. Everything was all over by 11.40, and completely closed by midnight. Like living under a curfew.

Mind you you had to be in bed by midnight to be up for 5.30.to join the sunbed scramble. No thank you, holiday! I dont think so. I must have gone to another planet and place to all the other people who have done reports on this hotel.

This was our third trip to the San Miguel Hotel and there are for us definite pro's and cons to the place. When we choose which holiday we go for we have two proviso's, mine which is that the holiday is all inclusive, my wife's proviso is that is a TUI Thomson Superfamily resort (we are both of the opinion that Thomson are the best TOP out there) which leaves us with the choice of one resort.

The Pro's are:

The quality of the Thomson Children's Entertainment team (N.B definitely younger children) A special mention for Ailee - a superstar.
The cleanliness of the resort
The Resort Staff
The secluded and safe location

The Cons

I was very disappointed with the variety of the food this year. Hake is guaranteed to be dished up in some form every single day and it is all canteen fried, swimming in butter or fat.

The queues for the Bars are ridiculous to get a small plastic cup of whatever, even Zorro has complained to the management asking why they had four bar staff in the Beach Club bar in May during the day and only 1 in August. And the one that was in there was always nipping out the back for a fag. The small plastic cups are done for safety but are a pain.

The evening entertainment is starting to look a bit tired nothing much has changed, even the outside acts are the same ones that have been coming for years. But things may change as I know that Stan isnt there next year and I would be very surprised if Jax is.

I can see where Sylvia is coming from in some respects, this hotel is not in the same quality as Louis Phaetheon Beach in Paphos or the Magic Life Marmaris, but they don't cater for young chlidren as well as the San Miguel.

Thomson if you read these boards can we have more All Inslusive Superfamily resorts please so at least there is an alternative?

The beach club was Brilliant. The maids kept it Super clean and worked very hard all day. The food was very tasty but not as much choice as the hotel (which is understandable, because it was smaller).

The hotel staff were very friendly. The waitresses in the club worked hard to keep everyone happy. Thanks to the entertainers, Zorro, Stan, Oli, Natasha and the Thomson reps Jax and Maddie.

They were very friendly and worked hard all day though some of the night entertainment wasn't always excellant.

The place has loads to do, its a definite place to go for the whole family.

We will certainly return another year!

Just returned from hols at this resort, on the whole had a good time, kids 14 & 12 loved it. Very geared up for teenagers and we never saw ours for the two weeks which is always a bonus!

Just a few niggles really:

Hotel restaurant not enough staff, we had to wait every night for other peoples dishes to be cleared away and the hunt for knives & forks was always an interesting one!

Food was ok, but not much variety and if you went late it wasn't very fresh. The western saloon bar was dirty and food very stale and you do get fed up of burgers by the end of the two weeks. You do get used to the plastic cups, and yes the cocktails are lethal!

Hotel rooms are fine, just big enough and are kept very clean.

The entertainment is great fun and Zorro is amazing, although some of the outside acts are a bit dire. One night we went over the road where they had a Blues Brothers tribute band on and they were far better.

We never got a bed around the pool because you would have to get up at about 7 in the morning to find one and I am not that sad, instead we went on the beach, which is far quieter although quite expensive 11 euros for two beds and a brolly!

Although, we wouldn't return here we did have a good holiday and would recommend it for families with older children.
