Not luxury as advertised
The standard of this hotel is very poor. It is dirty and very badly in need of a refurbishment. It is clear that there has been no inward investment in the hotel since it opened. The staff listen to complaints and to an extent do try to deal with it, however, they do not deal with the problem, so it is there for somebody else to complain about.

The facilities at the hotel would be more akin to 3 star if it was clean and in good order. It is no way 5 star and certainly not Luxury, as stated in the Gambia Experience brochure.

I would not describe it as All Inclusive. It is more like full board plus drinks. There is really only one bar. Are are very few comfortable seats around the hotel. There are two AI restaurants; however, they only open one of these at each meal time, leading to long queues, which is wholly unacceptable. The food is OK, however, it is never hot and is at best warm. If you want milk with you tea of coffee at breakfast you can forget it, as they seem to be short of milk jugs. If you want 5 star All Inclusive you won’t find it here.

Very disappointing

On arrival our room was dirty. Windows were dirty, bathroom sink blocked, no plug. Door to room broken, patio door broken and dirty drinking glasses.
Mini bar not there. All above were rectified upon complaint, but mni bar remained empty for two weeks.

Food, yes! Plenty of variety, but beef, couldn't cut it, let alone chew it. Chicken well, how do you overcook a chicken, so that it is like leather?
Salads were nice. Pasta and rice were ok, desserts were nice too, but overall not what you expect for five star, none of it, the rooms or the food.

The only bar in the hotel, is 50 per cent in the open air. Fine but some nights really cold, so shame about those outside. But hey at least they have seats, the bar, doesn't have enough seats for all the guests. It goes on and on. And bearing in mind the only bar didn't have enough seats for all the people, never mind, you just had to go to bed.

In conclusion, this hotel needs marking down to threestar and priced accordingly.

Lovely relaxing break

We were not really sure when we booked this holiday but could not have been so wrong!
The food was lovely the hotel very good standard a bit far from the centre but just a short taxi ride away. The staff were the best I’ve come across on a holiday. There was not much entertainment but it was billed as a quiet relaxing holiday in the brochure. I would defiantly recommend this hotel if you want to relax sun bathe and eat.
