We travelled with NCL to New York - Bermuda - New York during a wet spell of weather for the time of year. No one's fault. The Helmsley Hotel in New York was clean, staff very helpful and food very good, if a bit pricey.

Having joined the Crown, our cabin was clean and spacious, but a bit noisy being at the rear of the ship. Also, the air conditioning could not be controlled and we were cold more often than not.

Bermuda was beautiful and everything we had expected, but the choice of overnight stops was not. We spent a day in St Georges, lovely quaint olde worlde and had a wonderful walking tour with a local lady who was very knowledgeable.

We then sailed to Hamilton which was busy, bustling and had lots to offer, but we only had one day there. We then spent the best part of two days at the old fort area, which was indeed very interesting with lots of shops etc, but we had seen it all after the first day. An extra day in Hamilton would have been more appropriate.

Our only complaint was the debarkation process we encountered when back in New York. UK and other non-US passengers were coralled into a very small reception area with no seating for nearly 3 hours because of a problem with clearing US Customs. The US passengers were free to roam the ship or stay in their cabins as they wished. The ship's staff were not very helpful and could not give us any information, nor provide a more comfortable waiting area. When we finally disembarked, we were too late for our original transferand no one from NCL could be found to offer alternative transfer arrangements. The ground staff finally did something for us after an hours wait on the docks, a noisy, uncomforable place to be standing arounf for an hour. Because of the delay we were too late for a "day room" in a hotel and went straight to the airport, where we then spent a further 4 hours.

Once we returned to the UK, we did contact NCL and were offered a refund on the "day room" portion of our holiday, plus inboard credit on our next cruise if it was taken within the next 12 months - as if!!

All in all, the holiday itself was enjoyable, but that last day spoilt the memory and has left us considering other cruise lines for our next adventure on the high seas.
