After trying for two weeks and sending Thomas Cook an e-mail we have finally completed our API. allthough it says on the TC web site that the info required can be collected at the airport we now have peace of mind that there should be no problems on departure day( exept delays) 
I too would not have known about API if I didnt read these forums.I have booked flights for June and September with different agencies on line,nobody emailed me to request that I fill it out,it was only when I went to view my bookings on line that the requests were there!.
Me too Crispy, I filled mine in the other day with aegean flights and I too wouldnt have known about it if it wasnt for this forum, I,m now in the process of trying to do it with Thomas cook and I fly in 7 wks but carnt seem to do it on there site

Click on the link above ,scroll down to where it says enter api here click on ,enter last name ,booking reference ,date of departure,click login,Confirm then click on large box at right hand side which says confirm passenger details .Passenger information comes up tick the small boxes at the side of each name and follow from there .If you do not tick the small boxes at the side of each name it will not work .

Travel Republic contacted me today to say my API for my flight with Onur air this year will be collected at check in.
hi I also have been trying to login to thomas cook but it keeps saying that my login details cannot be recognised we fly at end of may. 
what can Itry now, any ideas anyone.

If you go to your local libarey they will do it for you on they computer only reason i know i was in ours today and there was a couple doing it and the girl behind counter said she as had loads off people in who have booked with thomas cook and are having same problems Hope this helps

Ive just filled mine in but I have a query, my daughters middle name is hazel ellen but the online form doesnt allow for this name so I can only put hazelellen which dont seem correct as it doesnt match the passport?
is this something to worry about?

If the details on your passport are different from the details on your api and your ticket you could have a problem.You may be better getting it checked .

Hi ive done mine no problem at all with Onur Air it seems its the thomas cook web site that people are having problems with x
i booked with kthy going to turkey i have emailed them to ask about api but not got a answer back someone as given me a phone number to contact them but if i cant get in touch would they refuse to let me fly.
Just have it all ready to provide at check in and be prepared to list it all off pretty quickly to the check in agent. It wont be a problem.

Nope, I keep trying to do mine with Thomas cook and it wont let me and I go next week,, not worried tho cos thy will do it at the airport, My daughter who is also coming with me went straight on the TC site and did it straight away,, Oh well

I was concerned about not being able to enter my detail, i have completed the API but my sister is flying out of gatwick at this moment in time with Thomas Cook, she did not enter her details and was not asked for them at check-in !!!
so what is all this fuss about ?
is it just to cause extra stress to passengers ?
if they bring in a rule then stick to it.

Gregg,
There isn't any fuss as the details are taken off your passport and booking. It just speeds up the process of checking-in and if for any reason your details are flagged up for some reason, if they're given in advance, there's time for checks to be made and things to be resolved that you wouldn't have if there was a problem at the airport.

Dont get me wrong i'm all for security as i used to work at an airport, and with my job i fly every 2 weeks,
i was just trying to put people at ease cos a lot on here are sounding as if they are worried, and wont be able to fly unless they complete the api. I was - knowing i was unable to enter my details for a few days .... thinking that i have paid all this money etc and will be turned away at checkin !!
also nothing about api was mentioned in my Thomas Cook documents or my sisters,
If this is the case then tc should enclose a letter explaining this procedure
