I've booked air canada flights from heathrow to ottawa. I just have my itinerary, is this all I need to book in with? Or are they supposed to send tickets?

Normally the itinerary should be ok and should have instructions for you to check in online and insert your API. Most airlines now do not send tickets etc, unless there is some form of e-ticket you can download. It should all be on the itinerary, but when you login to do your API it should tell you what you need to do..
