I can`t believe its all over,but what a brilliant holiday,we got to the airport and to the lounge which is a good start to the holiday,our flight was on time and was comfortable,we had upgraded to premium but like last year my t.v screen didn`t work and my reading light conked out so i wasn`t happy,i am going to complain this time though.
We got through Dabolim fairly quickly,and got one of our cases and then waited and waited for the next one until we were the last there,but no case by this time i was getting really worried however there was one case left which was infact a holdall the only thing in common with ours was that it was black ours even has one of those name straps around it but someone had gone off with it by mistake,but we finaly worked out what had happened and got ours back.
On arriving at our appartment we were over the moon the pics we had seen didn`t do it justice it was stunning as was the complex (Riviera Hermitage).
we spent most of our days at the beach and mainly used the Big bananna that is until we decided to try Bono`s after reading about it on here,well there was no going back,spotlessley clean,lovely food,and brilliant clean toilets,even the area behind the shack was well kept which shows it can be done,it was a little more expensive but still great value,we also went to Mandrem and used sea breeze shack.we had a lovely day out on the river crab fishing with jemajo and jim her husband from H.T we had a real laugh and a local restaurant cooked what we had caught.By far the best thing we did was to go flying in a micro light from vagator beach,WOW what an amazing expierience, i`m just sorry that i was so frightened up there that i didn`t get from it what i should have it really is something i will never forget(thanks goangirl).
Now onto the nights,and we had some great ones,on our first night we went to jamies and then to lazy days were we met meagain and o/h had a really nice evening,other memorable nights were at jamabalaya where there were lots of members from both T/A and H/T and was hosted by bluesmania (tom) everyone was so friendly with a fantastic atmosphere,the meets at the carvery were great and meeting up with people you chat to all year is lovely,Bardays in calangut was another good night with a great band called gfaffitti,but best of allwas the two evenings we spent at Thalassa in vagator ,the most stunning setting i have ever come across,set on the top of the cliffs overlooking the beach,we got there for the sunset,it brought a tear to my eye,the restaurant though is beautiful as is the food,the best meal we had was at Bomra`s burmese restaurant in candolim,the tastes and flavours were amazing,a meal i won1t forget in a hurry(thanks to sam the boater)other great restaurants were A reverie,this restaurant anywhere else would be unaffordable,the presentation alone is magic,i have never taken so many photo`s of food,another old favourite was allspice where the day before goangirl had ordered 3 whole legs of lamb we had a really good time as afte we went to Anans a little bar in arpora where there are just a few tables on the street,also went to kimfaa,sublime,tibetan kitchen,spice oven,and ingos market.
Our journey home was horrendous we got to the airport at 5 a.m to be told our flight had been cancelled and wouldn`t be going until 1 a.m the next morning,after 4 hours they shipped us off to a hotel in vasco de gamma,which was quite nice but we were given little information which was really frustrating.
So all in all a great time was had by all,i did find however that everywhere seemed dirtier and scruffier than usual,but lovely people lovely weather and the best food i have had anywhere more than made up for that also we were still shocked at how cheap eveything is.
Well all over for another 12 months, and back to reality it is !!!!!
