Hi Kath, your daughter might like to consider the Hotel Meridian in Ballutta Bay in San Giljan which is very close to Sliema, there is also Hotel Juliani in the beautifull Spinola Bay in San Giljan, and another she might like to consider is The Corinthia San Gorg in St Georges Bay still very close to San Giljan but the other side of Paceville but still a short way from San Giljan itself, there is also The Westin Dragonara which juts out to sea and has it's own casino, one thing she might like to consider is that St Julians (San Giljan) is quite small in size compared to it's big brother Sliema, the two places are linked by a very regular and cheap bus service and are only a short distance apart geographically, there is more choice in Sliema so if she wants to consider that please let me know and I will happily help out.

Thanks Sliema, I will certainly tell her.

How long would it take her to get to St Julians if she stays at Sliema ?

The wedding is at San Pawl Chapel, San Pawl, Tat-Targa and then reception at the Villa Arrigo - do you know of them ?

I think they will be laying a coach on to take them to the wedding.

They have actually been considering the Westin Dragonara but still looking.

Hi Kath, at there furthest points then Sliema and San Giljan are no more than 15-20 minutes from each other depending on traffic of course, at there closest points they are seconds away as Sliema becomes San Giljan at the monastery on Triq-it-Torri at Balluta Bay.

Yes we know San Pawl tat Targa in fact we will be out and about near there this coming weekend, I imagine that Villa Arrigo is or was once owned by the local Arrigo family ?, if so then I know of the family as they are a very well known and much respected local family well known in local business including travel and property to name but a few, Robert Arrigo used to own and maybe still does own Sliema Wanderers FC.

Im not sure that the Villa is owned by the Arrigo family, but given the name quite possible.

I will tell my daughter how far away Sliema is, but I think it will depend on where the rest of the wedding family are staying. Maybe they will stay in Sliema too.

Thanks for your help Sliema

THe Hilton at Portomaso, St Julians is fantastic. The restaurants in there are also top notch. Ate in there on Wednesday night, superb as usual. Beach club now has 5 pools.
