Hotel Ayderia , Marmaris lies in the perfect location - close to restaurants, shops, the night life. But the hotel itself is less than perfect.
We had a friendly welcome by the staff but i wasnt very impressed with the room. The Scott travel brochure states that all rooms have a bathroom with a bath and shower. Unfortunatley ours just had a tiny shower. The bathroom itself wasnt big enough to fit two people in.
The food in the hotel was disgusting. At lunch times there was no variety and the food was often cold. Evening times were just as worse. We often had chicken which looked like it hadnt been cooked and my dad had a dogdey stomach during the holiday after eating some of the stew served one night. I can say though there was some nice salad varieties - perfect for those who are on diets!! At 2:30 every day snacks became available. These were ok and were very popular as not many people chose to have lunch from the restaurant. Luckily Macdonalds was just across the road from the hotel so my money went there. Drinks at the hotel could have been better. One night the stingy hotel mananger put up a notice saying " one drink per person only" . How pathetic is that? The morning after all the guests went to reception and complained. The vodka they served was VERY strong and one night they ran out! The soft drinks meanwhile were warm.
Entertaintment - there was none. The broshure states "occasional entertainment" which is a complete lie. The entertainment supervisor never planned any activities.
The only good thing about the hotel was the staff and the cleanliness of it. We grew very attached to Jimmy ,Mike,Sharp and Eddy the bar staff. They worked so hard all day and couldnt do enough for you. Some nights after they'd finished work Sharp,Jimmy and Mike would come down to the bars with us! The manager really didnt appreciate how hard they worked in my opinion. I was disgusted to find out how much they get paid - a meesly £5 a day for working 15 hours! The cleaners were also brilliant. Our rooms were cleaned daily. The cleaners often put rose petals or flowers on our bed. When mum gave the cleaner 20 million tip ( equivalent to £8 ) her face lit up!

Luckily the quality of the hotel didnt wreck our holiday. I had the best holiday ever! The night life in Marmaris is buzzin. Big up to the Turtle Bar! the best bar in marmaris! I cant wait to go back!! ( but to stay in a different hotel).

Now i'm in a downer, going to the ayderia in a fortnight so too late to change now. Were you able to eat at least once a day or able to tolerate even a few drinks?? If i cant rely on the all inclusive food and drink, how much spending money would you recommend taking for a fortnight then?

have you been and come back please let me know what it was like we paid £1900 for three of us to go there to day but will cancel if its really bad

Hi, not been yet. Going on Monday. when are you away? I will let you know when I come back. To be honest I've read some okay things about it too, clean and friendly etc. The food seems to be the biggest disappointment but I'm still looking forward to my holiday. Apparently the snacks are great.

Hi I have read most comments about The AYDERIA and wrote a couple last year but hey cmon Its turkish food, the joiner is rubbish but the tea coffee softdrinks and booze are free ,sorry prepaid but even if this hotel is basic its reasonably clean ,better than a lot around,central location almost on the beach ,dead close to all entertainment. What if the entertainment is pooh,the staff work hard and if you have a real complaint and not just a grumble or a petty moan they do help Like the sink crashing to the floor in the middle of the night ,I admit I named it fawlty towers in may this year and had a good laugh about it ,so come on folks kinda get a life for the money you pay to stay here do you reallly need to be run after hand and foot ,if you wanna eat al blackpool go there or go into the town and buy a steak dinner its only 4 quid you saved that on your first two drinks of the morning, chill be cool and enjoy, maxie PS if you want a gauranteed dodgy stomach go and eat at macdonalds and remember there aint no envoirmentel health inspectors in turkey

Hello Everyone

Just new to this today and desperately seeking advice/reassurance about the Hotel Ayderia in Marmaris! I booked it yesterday as a last minute deal and am heading there on Friday with a friend. When I booked it I looked it up on the internet while the Agent was on the phone, however I have now looked at reviews and they arent too hot to say the least

Does anyone know what hotel I mean or heard ANY good stories?? ha

sorry to add my experience of this hotel too, we stayed there last year and wasnt impressed, the hotel over books and on arrival we got sent to the hotel down the road thats not connected to ayderia and isnt an all inc either for the first night, we stood our ground and argued but got no where,every day we watched this happen with new guests, next day we got a room at the ayderia ,it was very noisey so had to change rooms the following night,hotel is very basic, food was ok, but limited to meal times no snacks etc, drink weakened and limited, its near the police station and large supermarket and not far from the sea front, its more 2 star than 3

Well its lucky that us Irish are a laid back otherwise I would have busted a blood vesel after reading the reviews on the Adyeria It sounds like we are going to have a bit of a giggle at this hotel anyway and Im sure we will have some interesting photos and stories to tell when we get back! Oh and as an added advantage we may even be a few pounds lighter if we cant eat the slop that they apparently serve! lol

As long as its clean and there is a shower we will be happy. We got it pretty cheap, 1/2 the price of the crazy quotes we were getting in the travel agents for any last minute holidays, even though we were prepared to go the next day!!!

Anyway I may go and start getting packed and I promise that when I get back I will tell all and hopefully it will be good news as not to scare anyone else who are following behind us!

try and make the best of it, its not the worst place ive stayed in and food was edible just not a lot of choice have stayed in a worse all inc where we couldnt eat the food, rooms were clean and its in not a bad position although noisey hotels around it, im sure you will have a good time as marmaris is a nice place , the main thing that annoyed us was being moved after 12 hours of travelling etc, have a good hol

We dont mind a bit of noise to be honest as we are there to have a bit of a blow out/party!

Is it within walking distance to all the good bars and clubs? Would you suggest we go to one in particular??

its near the migros supermarket and police station, its a long walk into marmaris town centre so we caught dolmus each time which stops outside cop shop and thats only 2 mins walk away, but there is bars along the way if you decide to walk and stop on route to have a few drinks, you are a bit younger than me so im sure you will manage the walk , im qualified in catering too so if i say the food is ok you should be fine lol, let me know if they are still over booking lol,drinks are weakened down and are very limited

Well we are in our early 20s so we will probably walk for the first couple of nights and then maybe get a bus the other times, although after the recent news I was hoping to avoid any buses Walk will probably be our best bet and we can haggle a few free drinks along the way lol

Drinks are weakened We are both wine drinkers and probably start early so its maybe a blessing that drinks are a bit weaker! ha ha

HI just got back from Marmaris last Monday. Only 49 weeks till we go back!!!!
Dont know about Aydera but this year we booked our holiday through Vision and wont be doing it again.
We payed £100 for a private transfer which we only got one way. When we got picked up to go back to the airport it was in a shared bus with not enough room for all our luggage and we still had lne mor pick up to make. We did tell the rep but his reply was that if we didnt get on the bus we wouldnt get back to the airport. As much as we love Marmaris we didnt want to be stranded there. We,ve been to Marmaris 4 times and it was the worst welcome. Instead ofthe usual cheery face we were asked what took us so long to get out of the airport. I thought 50 mins fram landing was realy good.
Apart from that the holiday was great and next year we will definately not book with Vision. The area youre going to is great and lots to do and see. Be sure to go to the bars along the beach. Dont forget to go through to icmeler and go the the Chill Bar its great.
