Hi Danielle, stayed at Southern Palms on St Lawrence Gap, I,m not sure how it rates pricewise but it is self catering and we had a lovely holiday, rooms were fine and the place itself is very undemanding, right on the beach. There are loads of places to eat fairly reasonably but you must bear in mind Barbados is not a cheap island. I have just returned from Antigua and walking round a supermarket the prices are no different from home and in quite a few fairly basic items items even more expensive. I don't know how local people survive. The only cheaper time to go is in the first two weeks of December but that's not much help for you.

That exchange rate of the Barbados Dollar (which is tied directly to the US Dollar) is not helping matters at all. Flights will cost from £ 400 onwards peaking to £ 1000 at the busy times of the year.

Beginning of November should be the low season and should be one of the cheapest time of the year to go to Barbados.

Mark :)

Thanks for your help. I've looked at Southern palms and seems the best as it is right on the beach but it is very expensive!

Has anyone stayed at South Gap or Time out the gap?
